DoMark International, Inc. (DOMK) Brings It All Together

April 4, 2013

When DoMark subsidiary SolaWerks announced that it had obtained exclusive rights to a patent pending technology that allows solar powered charging systems for mobile devices to tap the vast infrared (IR) portion of the electromagnetic wave spectrum, it was a perfect example of what DoMark does best. By being able to make use of IR rays, which are virtually everywhere, versus the far more limited visible light rays, the new technology provides charging capabilities far superior to standard chargers. It represents DoMark’s knack for identifying upcoming opportunities, companies that are in the right place at the right time to make use of important new technologies.

In the case of SolaWerks’ new IR charging technology, the development is a major boost to the company’s position in charging and other accessories for Apple mobile products. But it also unlocks a world of possibilities for mobile devices in general, allowing efficient charging from an entire new range of energy sources. No longer will the lack of an intense light source, such as the sun, mean inadequate charging, since an abundance of IR radiation is found indoors, from incandescent lighting and other sources. Whenever you feel radiated heat, you’re feeling infrared rays. It means the beginning of the end of dependence upon plug-in chargers and worrying about how much power you have left before your phone or other mobile device blanks out. With the worldwide demand for mobile device accessories well over $30 billion annually, such a breakthrough technology is of great significance.

DoMark, of course, is not limited to the mobile device market. The company actively considers any private company that it feels is at a critical juncture in the development of marketable new ideas. DoMark sees itself as providing the final push of needed human and other resources to bring it all together.

CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. (CVVUF) Secures 16.5k Acres of Prime Uranium Land in the Athabasca, Further Growing Already Strong Regional Footprint

CanAlaska Uranium has been marshalling their uranium operations up in Canada’s extremely rich Athabasca Basin region for quite some time now and has managed to build up a considerable land position that continues to grow with carefully-chosen additions like today’s announcement that the company has acquired a three-claim, roughly 16.5k acre site in the Patterson Lake area of the western Athabasca.

The company has put some $85M to date into their extensive holdings exploring for uranium and today is sitting on one of the most impressive land positions in the entire region at over 2.1M acres. With some of the best technical people in the field today at its disposal, CanAlaska was eager to snap up these claims, originally staked out during the new map-based claim staking in December of last year and the company has already begun engaging potential JV partner deals as exploration plans are drawn up.

This is another solid move for the company’s regional strategy and the newly acquired acreage stands up rather well next to larger projects in the portfolio, like the flagship Cree East project in the southeastern Athabasca, a 138.2k-acre beauty being pursued via strategic partnership with a major Korean energy consortium. There have been recent uranium discoveries at shallow depths on the newly acquired claims, and CanAlaska will be chomping at the bit to land a JV partner and proceed with more in-depth exploration.

The company has also shored-up/finalized the maintenance budgets for Cree and their West McArthur Project, a high-potential project with a 100M lbs minimum target that sits just west of Cameco’s producing McArthur River mine (436M lbs U3O8 at a 25% grade), arguably the richest uranium mine on earth. The company is currently fielding a participating interest offering on the Cree and West McArthur projects via KPMG Transaction Advisory Services, Hong Kong, and with a minimum target between the two sites of some 150M lbs of U3O8, it won’t be long before appropriate relationships are established, especially considering how hungry China is for nuclear energy inputs.

With 16 plants online and another 30 under construction as of the end of last year in China alone, the future for that global uranium market is extremely bullish, due in large part to the exceptionally green environmental footprint achieved when facilities are properly maintained. Russia is also moving steadily forward with new facilities and has targeted a 50% increase by 2020, creating favorable, broader end markets for developers like CanAlaska. Then of course we have domestic consumption as well, which alone can eat up more than developers like CanAlaska are able produce, especially as we run out of down-blended Russian nuke fuel from the Megatons to Megawatts Program that ends this year (which will now require an additional 10.6k tonnes or so of U3O8 to be mined for domestic reactor consumption).

President of CVVUF, Peter Dasler, happily invites shareholders and participants to attend the highly-influential Cambridge House Investment conference in Vancouver this January 20-21 at the Vancouver Convention Centre (General Admission is free and you can go here for tickets/details). Venue-goers can check out CanAlaska at booth 1314, as well as sit in on the corporate presentation Sunday (Jan 20), at 4:10pm that will cover the company’s recent activities. The conference is a huge event for the sector and many industry top guns will be on hand over the weekend, so it should be a big coup for CanAlska going in with these new, highly-prospective acquisitions to talk about.

Bergamo Acquisition Corp. (BGMO) Taps Stream of Funds for Investment Strategy

The ongoing acquisition strategy of Bergamo Acquisition, similar to the acquisition strategy of Berkshire Hathaway, targets a diversified portfolio of companies with sound fundamentals and growth potential. In Bergamo’s case, the funding of these acquisitions is based upon a well-established process of carefully identifying and vetting major investment sources, up to and including the recent confirmation and transfer of investment funds through the services of HSBC, the world’s third-largest publicly held bank.

To read last week’s press release announcing Bergamo’s $1.5 billion investment agreement with National Wealth, visit Our team has worked directly with management to further explain the relationship Bergamo has with National Wealth.

Identifying and establishing formal relations with appropriate investment groups is a detailed and careful process, involving a set of contractual and independently verified steps that have long been established and recognized by the legal and financial community to confirm funds and process their transfer between entities. Although it is a time consuming process, Bergamo considers comprehensive vetting and contractual endorsement by all those involved as being critical to proper transactions of size, and in the best interests of all parties. It’s one of the reasons the investments are attractive to investment banks, private equity funds, and other institutions.

Using extensive due diligence, Bergamo is able to identify the most qualified investment groups, with which the company draws up a highly detailed contract carefully spelling out all of the duties and responsibilities of the parties. Included is the representation by the investor group of the funds they plan to invest, meaning cash funds in a respected bank that are free of liens, not borrowed, legitimately earned and ready to be invested. Once the agreement is signed, the investment group further draws up a statement with additional details regarding the funds.

Final confirmation, however, comes in the form of actual bank-to-bank communications with the bank formally verifying all of the above. The preferred form of bank-to-bank verification is a SWIFT message. SWIFT stands for the Society For World Interbank Financial Telecommunication, a non-profit financial organization headquartered in Belgium which, among other services, provides a formal agreed upon way for banks around the world to communicate the accepted verification of funds for large transactions. Such a formal confirmation message can only be sent if the account holder agrees that the funds will be held as security for the transaction, and represents essentially a cash-backed security.

Following final verification, the funds can be transferred, in this case to the designated bank account of Bergamo’s European company. The funds are then under Bergamo’s control, but with an agreement in place to use them only for investments agreed upon by all parties. The profits to be generated from these carefully chosen investments will be divided equally between Bergamo and the investor group. It’s important to note that the vast capital secured under the recently announced investment agreement enables access to ultra-high-return investment opportunities available only to those with extraordinary funds.

Bergamo’s portion of proceeds from the investment program with National Wealth is free to be used for whatever the company choses, and the company has already made clear its intent to invest in high-quality acquisitions. Bergamo’s financial connections give them both a source of select investment opportunities as well as an ongoing steam of secure funding for their strategy of targeting superior acquisitions in both the U.S. and Europe.

Cardium Therapeutics, Inc. (CXM) To Go Brands Vitamins for Children

One of the challenges of every parent is ensuring that their children get the kind of nutrition they need. You can avoid keeping junk foods around the house, and make a point of serving vegetables and fruit with every meal, but these days kids spend a lot of time outside the house, offering little control over what they may be snacking on. In the end, they may be lacking in the doctor-recommended vitamins they need as they grow.

Children may be slow to take traditional vitamin pills, and attempts have been made to make them seem more like candy. But some children’s vitamins are more candy than vitamin, with some even sticking to teeth and encouraging cavities. Did you know that Gummy Vitamins are one of the worst trends to hit dentist’s offices in recent years? Gummy-type vitamins are more likely to sit on or between the teeth longer, where bacteria can thrive, especially in younger children who do not yet brush their teeth well. It only takes about 20 minutes for bacteria to start excreting cavity-causing acids. Due to their sticky nature and tendency to damage fillings or other dental hardware, dentists often advise against Gummy Vitamins.

Not a problem with VitaRocks, a product of To Go Brands, healthy lifestyle subsidiary of Cardium Therapeutics. VitaRocks are called “Vitamins That Pop,” popular pour-in-the-mouth popping candy that kids love, but containing different mixes of vitamins that they need.

• VitaRocks Cherry Blast, Grape Crusher, and Lemon Burst offer an unbeatable taste with a mix of important vitamins that even adults can love. An excellent source of vitamins A, B, C, D, and E as well as minerals in the form of an all-natural candy.

• VitaRocks C offers a powerful dose of 1000mg of Vitamin C in every packet. VitaRocks C is also encapsulated, providing a buffering effect from the acidity of Vitamin C. Containing all-natural sweeteners, it goes straight to work to help the immune system, especially sought during cold and flu season.

GlobalWise Investments and its wholly owned subsidiary Intellinetics, a leading-edge technology company focused on the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based Enterprise Content Management (“ECM”) systems, reported today that William J. “BJ” Santiago, CEO of GlobalWise, will be speaking at the prestigious Technology United Executive Connection Summit.

Held in Scottsdale, AZ, the Technology United Executive Connection Summit ( will take place next week. Other speakers scheduled to deliver a presentation at the event include Konica, SAP, and the Technology United Alliance members: Intel, Newfield IT, GreatAmerica Financial Services, LMI, ESP, Green Hills Software, Barrister, and GreenPrint.

“We announced being accepted into the invitation-only Technology United organization this past summer and are very pleased to now be presenting at the summit this month,” commented William J. “BJ” Santiago, CEO of GlobalWise. “The Alliance members and the office technology audience in attendance create a fantastic stage for us to grow our channel partnerships and expand the marketing of our cloud-based ECM strategies. This invitation-only conference is geared toward CEOs, Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents, with over 225 confirmed to be attending the 3-day event. I will be speaking in a session titled ’Channel Changer – Click Charges for Document Management’ to show how the integration of the IntellivueTM software into the copier and multi-function printer eco-system provides a new revenue source for the dealer community. More importantly, this unique approach enables a state-of-the-art ECM solution that finally fits seamlessly within their end-user procurement vessels under similar contracts such as Managed Print Service (MPS) or Document Managed Services (MDS).

“Many in the industry have called our flagship software a ‘channel changer’ because our user-friendly model is similar to the traditional per click charge standard, but introduces a fixed cost model that appeals to a wider customer base. Therefore, the end-user no longer has to worry about being charged more money for each mono (black and white), color or virtual image scan (i.e. Video, Audio, JPEG, PPT, Excel, etc.). Intellivue™ allows the end-user to scan both hard-copy and virtual images, as well as index, search, and retrieve archived data via the cloud, in the same model in which they buy their products today through their dealer. Instead of a per page or per click charge, there is simply a capacity based monthly subscription fee,” concluded Mr. Santiago.

Technology United was established by GlobalWise Channel Partner MWAi’s CEO Mike Stramaglio to form a strategic hub alliance that provides the best-in-class and most aggressive solutions and services that can collectively cover the technology needs within the office space, including IT automation, security, and document management services, such as those provided by GlobalWise. Bullfrog Gold, the domestic precious minerals developer currently focused on holdings in Nevada (1.65k acres and two patents adjacent to Barrick Gold’s Montgomery-Shoshone mine) and Arizona, is reporting a recommencement of drilling activities today on their Newsboy Gold Project as a third round of drilling is slated to commence.

The 30-hole program, slated for completion by early this April, will be targeting the area of the main deposit, in addition to the new Queen of Sheba area, with a potential fourth program sometime before the middle of June also proposed to explore some of the other highly prospective targets (eight in total, with a total current potential mineral site inventory of roughly 838k oz Au and 15.3M oz Ag). Newsboy is a great little 4.9k-acre project and sits just 45 miles outside of Phoenix to the northwest, affording excellent logistical support for all activities.

Noted local construction, drilling, and water management firm, Layne Christensen, who handled the first two drilling programs completed last year, has been pegged for this latest round and analytics will once again be performed by Skyline Labs out of Tucson. Bullfrog will be looking to sandwich in an independent mineral resource estimate update on the entire project as well after this third round of drilling, and markets will be eager to get a look at the new data sometime around April.

The first batch of 12 holes should start going in before the end of this month on the two leased patents detailed in the Dec 17 news release, as well as a State of Arizona Exploration Permit, with the remaining 18 holes on Federal lands merely awaiting customary approval by the Arizona Department of Water Resources and BLM. All lights look green thus far and the company has also landed the necessary Authority to Operate for round three of drilling as per the Maricopa County Air Quality Department requirements (via an updated General Permit granted Jan 11).

Bullfrog is go to explore the higher grade intercepts from the main deposit area that were kicked up during the previous two programs, and the tantalizing potential in the Queen of Sheba exploration area, where mineralization levels appear even higher than in the main deposit area, should no doubt spur the work on heartily.

Bundesbank (Central Bank of the Federal Republic of Germany) just officially moved to repatriate gold from New York and Paris amid protracted fundamental problems in the EU (basically looking to shore up domestic confidence and facilitate gold/foreign currency exchanges) and the PBOC (The People’s Bank of China) is hoarding gold like gangbusters with Shanghai even  moving towards a broadened OTC gold trading space with strong  ETF support. The macro signals here are unmistakable and domestic juniors like BFGC that have metal in the ground are looking like better and better stewards for precious investment capital as things start to really heat up.

Consumer-oriented online mortgage broker,, has learned that one of the challenges facing consumers looking for residential mortgages is simply understanding the many real estate and financing related terms. If a contract, for example, has a term that a buyer or seller doesn’t fully understand, it can lead to serious problems down the road. Simply talking with a professional about a real estate transaction and related financing can be difficult without knowing the language.

To this end, Loans4Less has incorporated a very simple but important consumer tool on their websites. It’s a comprehensive and searchable real estate and financial glossary, covering hundreds of related terms that can pop up in real estate and mortgage transactions. Out of all of them, some of the first few basic ones are listed below. Ask yourself how many of them you know.

• Acceleration Clause – A provision in a mortgage that gives the lender the right to demand immediate payment of the outstanding loan balance under certain circumstances. Usually when the borrower defaults on the loan.

• Adjustment Date – The date the interest rate changes on an adjustable rate mortgage.

• Amortization Schedule – The breakdown of individual payments throughout the life of an amortized loan, showing both principal contribution and debt service (interest) fees.

• Assessment Ratio – The comparative relationship of a property’s assessed value to its market value.

• Assignment – Transfer of ownership of a mortgage usually when the loan is sold to another company.

• Biweekly Mortgage – A mortgage where you make “half payments” every two weeks, rather than one payment per month. This results in making the equivalent of 13 monthly payments per year, rather than 12, significantly reducing the time it takes to pay off a thirty year mortgage.

• Bridge Financing – An interim loan made to facilitate the purchase of a new home before the buyer’s current residence sells and its equity is available to fund the new purchase.

• Buy Down – Extra money paid in a lump sum to reduce the interest rate of a fixed rate mortgage for a period of time. The extra money may be paid by the borrower, in order to have a lower payment at the beginning of the mortgage. Or paid by the seller, or lender, as incentive to buy the property or take on the mortgage.

• Chattel – Any personal property which is not attached to or an integral part of a property. Chattel is not commonly taken into consideration when appraising the value of real property.

• Conventional Mortgage – A traditional, real estate financing mechanism that is not backed by any government or other agency (FHA, VA, etc.).

• Deed Of Trust – A document which transfers title in a property to a trustee, whose obligations and powers are stipulated. Often used in mortgage transactions.

ReliaBrand, Inc. (RLIA) Introduces Unique Accessories for Babies

ReliaBrand owns and manufactures the Adiri brand of infant feeding products. Adiri is the most highly awarded baby bottle in the history of its category, with international recognition for its superior medical benefits and revolutionary design.

The company announced today the introduction of unique accessories it developed that transforms their new Adiri NxGen Nurser into both a sippy cup and a specially designed toddler’s sport bottle. The accessories in effect transform the Nurser from a single-use infant nurser to a series of useful products caregivers can utilize throughout the first years of a child’s development.

This product is ideal for the three transitional stages an infant will go though in its first few years. The child will move from a breast to a baby bottle or nurser followed by a transition from the baby bottle to a spill-resistant sippy cup and finally from that to a drinking cup or sport bottle.

Typically, manufacturers have created specialized products to help parents provide products to match the current needs of the child. But this, of course, involves the purchase of new products by the parents. Also, a child may resist the change to a new drinking arrangement from the previous one. ReliaBrand’s new accessories mean parents can keep the same basic products, avoiding both cost and aggravation.

Echelon Corp. (ELON) and ELO Announce Completion of Eletrobas Advanced Sensor & Smart Meter Project in Brazil

Echelon Corp., the premier energy control networking solution provider worldwide, and ELO Sistemas Eletronicos, one of the largest meter manufacturers in Brazil, announced that the Parintins City Project, ELO’s deployment of a 3,400 unit pilot installation with Eletrobras, is nearing completion. This massive utility is one of the largest in Latin America, serving over 3 million customers. The solution ELO has provided for this project consists of a dual mode smart meter that communicates over power line or by radio frequency through Echelon’s proprietary Multipurpose Expansion Port (MEP) feature. Echelon’s contribution to the project came in the form of smart sensor and metering sub-systems to ELO, leveraging its proven Energy Control Networking Platform.

The Parintins City Project is a part of a pioneering blueprint to improve the quality of life for Eletrobras’ customers in the Amazon region. Echelon’s smart meters will serve as sensors within the distribution network, to enable detection and immediate intervention in the event of a power failure or line tampering. Eletrobras will use the gigantic amounts of data gathered from smart meters, such as time consumption and cost per kWh at particular times of day, to encourage consumption during off-peak hours by altering rates throughout the day. ELO plans to deploy another 12,000 smart meters as part of the project by the end of 2013.

“We are excited to provide ELO with the solution that enables a grid modernization path for Eletrobras,” said Michael Anderson, senior vice president, Worldwide Markets, at Echelon. “Delivering safe, reliable energy is the main mission of the smart grid, and utilities like Eletrobras with grid modernization projects lead the way for other Brazilian cities and towns.”

The project is located in Parintins, a city on an island in an isolated portion of the grid, which will allow monitoring of system performance from generation to distribution and provide customer with status to this new technology. To integrate the entire area, meters with both PL and RF communications were required to reach all customers. Another technical requirement was to secure the information and sense any tampering, as this territory has one of the highest rates of non-technical losses, largely because enforcement is difficult. To date, 3,400 meters have been installed and the project is meeting its goals of reduced technical and commercial losses, increased security and improved quality of service.

“Meeting or surpassing the Eletrobras Parintins project goals for reduced losses and improved quality of service has been extremely satisfying,” said Marcos Rizzo , vice president of Business Development of ELO. “Parintins will be the first Brazilian city with 100% of the customers with a smart meter installed. Echelon and ELO are able to offer the Parintins project unmatched flexibility and time to market advantages based on the industry standard Open Smart Grid Protocol (OSGP).”

Kane Biotech, Inc. (KNE.V) is “One to Watch”

January 15, 2013

Kane Biotech is a biotechnology company developing products to prevent and disperse biofilms, which develop when bacteria and other microorganisms form a protective matrix to shield against attack. Bacteria become highly resistant to antibiotics, biocides, disinfectants, high temperatures, and host immune responses when in a biofilm, and this resiliency contributes to human health problems like recurrent urinary tract infections, medical device-associated infections, and tooth decay.

The company uses a patent-protected technology that is based on molecular mechanisms of biofilm formation and methods for finding compounds that inhibit or disrupt biofilms. Kane Biotech has evidence indicating that this technology will potentially improve the ability to prevent and/or destroy biofilms in various medical and industrial applications.

Estimated to be responsible for 80% of all human infections, biofilms cost industry, cities, and hospitals more than $500 billion every year. Based on its ability to screen for factors affecting biofilm formation, Kane Biotech has a growing pipeline of products and has developed candidate products based on the demand for safe and effective anti-biofilm compounds.

Formed in 2001, Kane Biotech aims to become a world leader in creating innovative technology for breaking down and dispersing biofilms and for developing unique products to positively impact human health. The company’s mission is discovering and commercializing compelling technology to prevent and cure infections in healthcare and animal agriculture, as well as offering solutions to biofilm-related problems in industrial applications.

Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc. (SYMX) Agrees to Conduct Study on Applying Gasification

Synthesis Energy reported entry today into an agreement with an undisclosed U.S.-based firm aimed at determining the best strategies for implementing the company’s own proprietary gasification technology, U-GAS®, for producing so-called ‘green’ chemicals from waste and landfill feedstocks. The financial and technical data developed in the study will help determine plant guidelines for up-scaled processing requirements.

Synthesis will have some help from globally recognized construction, engineering, and procurement firm Fluor Enterprises in leading this engineering study, and the company will be looking hard for a perfectly tuned combination of waste feedstocks. The source material once again gives SYMX the chance to showcase how robust their gasification technology is. Designed principally as a silver bullet for cleanly harnessing the maximum potential of low-grade coal seams, the technology is also able to process a wide range of feedstocks in a highly efficient and environmentally friendly manner.

The company will be looking at a variety of inputs here from used tires to auto-shredder residues and other refuse-derived fuels, taking the materials through to production of commercially viable methanol products. The necessary, associated processing infrastructure on the drawing board should win extremely high marks in the environmental sustainability area, as in all we are looking at a very clean system here, taking chemically hazardous waste that would otherwise impact the environment and performing the conversion to methanol via an exceptionally low emissions profile. Add to this fact the proposed facilities would be able to do nearly complete carbon capture and we are talking a reciprocal value bonanza.

The study being commissioned is largely shielded in certain respect due to a confidentiality agreement on the one hand and the highly competitive nature of the cleantech sector on the other. As it would be unwise to divulge further details about the deal, or the un-named U.S.-based company behind the study’s commissioning, SYMX will be dropping more information on such details towards end point targets in the (anticipated as being) four month study. Post completion of the study, SYMX will be looking to further the relationship with this important potential partner and advance to the next logical steps of the overall process.

President and CEO of SYMX, Robert Rigdon, commenting on the versatility of the company’s gasification technology, described how it would allow for an exceptionally clean use of the waste and landfill materials in question, producing high-value end products while helping to green the environment. Rigdon went on to extol how such technology can help us drastically reduce the overall carbon footprint associated with so many of the chemical products that we use on a daily basis.

Rigdon pledged to work hand-in-hand with Fluor to produce a real shining example of the in-house technical expertise in this field possessed by SYMX. Rigdon clearly mapped out how success in the study should lead to a quite lucrative relationship, a relationship which will form the basis of a “technology, equipment, and services supply business” to meet this rapidly growing demand from industry in general.

We will be listening for good news from U-GAS developer SYMX as the study advances over the next four months, but investors can already take a closer look at the technology and at this winning cleantech developer by visiting the following website:
