Data Call Technologies, Inc.’s (DCLT.OB) Additional Products

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc., best known as one of the fastest growing members of the Digital Signage (DS) community, offers a wider range of digital signage related products than most people are aware of.

First and foremost, of course, is the company’s well-known ability to provide compelling content to help draw viewer attention to digital signs, thus increasing their effectiveness. By adding continuously updated weather, news, traffic, sports, financial, or other eye-catching elements to digital signage, DCT has changed the way people look at advertising. In fact, DCT Chairman, Jim Ammons, who also helped invent the first live wireless sports feed with the Associated Press, believes that digital signage is the single most explosive industry today and will change not only advertising, but the Internet itself.

But the company also provides other less known associated products and features that support its clients as they move into the relatively new world of digital signage. For example, using DCT’s Express Messaging, you can instantly send out news, promotional information, or anything else you need to communicate, to all of your digital signage locations across the globe, all with a simple click of a mouse. You can also customize Express Messaging, using a graphic banner and logo. And DCT’s new N-Tice product allows businesses to mobilize their brand, by broadcasting to mobile devices, including instantly updated metrics to track response.

If you’re brand new to digital signage, or need additional DS hardware, Data Call Technologies even provides flatscreen TV panels (37” to 42”), as well as stands and mounts. The company considers itself a one-stop shop, and will customize product packages, both software and hardware, to meet individual client requirements. It also caters to both manufacturers and end users.

Data Call Technologies sees digital signage as the future of advertising and mass communication, and has positioned itself as a critical component in the revolution.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Positioned Well in a Growth Industry

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Data Call Technologies, Inc. is in one of the few sectors which has still managed to grow in a recessionary environment – the digital signage industry, which is expected to be a $2.6 billion market by 2011. The US digital signage market is expected to grow this year and next, driven by the decline in price for digital screens, which will allow companies to increase awareness among consumers of their brand while not increasing their advertising budget.

Since its founding in 2002, Data Call Technologies has uniquely positioned itself in the digital signage industry with its emphasis on active, real-time content and supplying customers with fresh, live content. It has been shown that such content – news, sports, weather, etc. – draws a larger number of viewers to digital signage and keeps their interest throughout the presentation. This is key for sponsors of that content who are advertising their goods and services.

Over the past few years, the company has managed to generate significant growth in both its customer base and revenues due largely to its ability to deliver digital signage solutions for customers in a wide variety of venues including: shopping centers, universities, medical centers, airports, highways, hotels and resorts, sports stadiums and arenas, and restaurants.

Data Call has been able to respond to market challenges through the years due to its close relationship with their end users and manufacturers. With their input, the company has continued to improve the delivery and variety of real-time information to the digital signage community. As the industry continues to grow and mature, this close relationship with end users and manufacturers should help keep Data Call in the forefront of the industry’s growth and power the company’s future growth.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) – Leading the Way in Digital Signage Advertising

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc. was founded in 2002 just as digital signage began to stake its claim in the world of advertising. Whether it’s general information (news, sports, stocks, etc.) or location-targeted active content (weather, traffic, etc.), research is showing that active content draws viewers to digital signage and keeps them engaged throughout the presentation.

What makes Data Call perhaps unique in the industry is the company’s emphasis on active, real-time content. From the earliest, Data Call and its management team has heeded the growing demand from customers for more on-demand content – the ability to keep digital signage fresh, live and in motion.

Today, the company’s wide variety of real-time content information feeds can be seen through digital signage networks in numerous venues – from airports and highways, to sports stadiums and arenas, from shopping malls to elevators.

Throughout the last several years, Data Call has grown with a vision to support the ever-expanding marketplace for digital signage with real-time information. The company has continued in efforts to improve the delivery, security and variety of information to the digital signage community, providing the most effective and complete live feeds in the industry.

As the industry grows and matures, Data Call is committed to staying ahead by leveraging cutting edge technologies and working on innovations in ease of use and expansion. It is this commitment that promises to power the company’s future growth.

Data Call Technologies Inc. (DCLT.OB) Positioned for Continued Growth in Competitive, Booming Digital Signage Market

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

Few sectors have managed to side-step the harsh impact of the recession, and even fewer have actually experienced significant growth. However, according to ABI Research, the U.S. digital signage market is set up for growth this year, leveraged by the declining price of digital screens, which attracts companies vying for consumer awareness and a loyal consumer base while maintaining a conservative budget.

The ABI report said 2008 revenue ranged up to $700 million, and further forecasted the market to increase by 33 percent this year, eventually reaching up to $2.6 billion by 2011.

Aside from a decline in digital screens costs, the research firm also attributed positive market expectations to an increase in consumers’ interest in traditional advertising, which fails to offer modern, customized and targeted messaging.

A growing market means increased competition, and Data Call Technologies Inc. has positioned itself as a key competitor with its focus on digital applications, such as wirelessly fed sports, financial news, domestic and international news, weather, traffic, trivia and more. As the digital signage market evolves, the company has recognized that the ability to saturate all digital signage venues is integral to its survival.

Data Call has responded to market challenges through strategic corporate partnerships and through the flexibility of moving into other vertical markets within the industry. Over the past few years, the company has managed to generate significant growth in its customer base and gross revenues, due in part to its ability to deliver digital signage solutions for a broad range of locales including: medical centers, banks, hotels, resorts, schools, gas stations, universities, restaurants, bill boards, and Public Broadcast Stations.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Expands Its Network

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

In a time of general business contraction, Data Call Technologies Inc., key provider of real-time content for digital signage, has once again extended its market. The company recently announced that it is now delivery its digital signage products to Kingston, on the island nation of Jamaica. The move is seen as the latest step in Data Call’s ongoing Caribbean and European initiatives, and just the beginning of a major global outreach.

Jim Ammons, Data Call Technologies Chairman, commented, “We’re truly excited that our products are now being provided in Jamaica. We expect strong continued growth in the Caribbean nations as they seek to deliver real-time, dynamic, and relevant information to island visitors.”

The company also announced that it has now installed products in Hilo, Hawaii, another example of how island retailers, who face unique marketing challenges, are being brought into the digital age. This expands Data Call’s total U.S. distribution coverage to 37 states.

Helping to fuel the expansion is the fact that the cost of digital platforms, displays, and supporting infrastructure are falling dramatically, making digital signage increasingly attractive to a wider range of businesses. Digital signage is now recognized as the premiere method to connect people with relevant information, with the worldwide digital signage industry topping $2 billion, on its way to an estimated $3 billion by 2011.

Data Call plays an important role in the support of digital signage effectiveness by providing real-time content information feeds, helping to draw viewer attention to digital messages. Digital signs, including Data Call feeds, can be seen at airports, sports arenas, banks, clinics, car dealers, manufacturing plants, elevators, and, of course, on billboards. Their feeds can even be sent to cell phones.

Data Call is committed to expanding its product offerings, and plans to move into other vertical markets within targeted industries.

Data Call Technologies, Inc.’s (DCLT.OB) Convergence of Demand and Technology

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc. couldn’t have chosen a better industry to be in, considering the anticipated growth of digital signage over the next several years. Sometimes there’s a situation where market demand and technology both converge at a single point in time, providing an unusual opportunity for the right companies. Such is the case with digital signage and Data Call.

Digital signage is evolving to meet the mass market. Hardware and software costs are falling dramatically, and the industry is searching for differentiators other than pricing. By 2011, some predict industry sales of close to $3 billion. Data Call seems to be in the perfect position to ride this wave, offering a differentiating product that is both valuable and unique. The product is real-time content, consisting of news, weather, sports, traffic, financial, and other information, which draws viewer eyes to digital signs, allowing the main message to be seen. Data Call is rapidly becoming a “must have” component in the digital signage mix.

Prior to digital signage technology, dynamic messaging, and the kind of real-time content offered by Data Call, the landscape was largely limited to the Internet or television broadcasts. But the Internet wasn’t of much use for display signage requirements, and television, though entertaining, was ineffective at capturing viewer attention for the primary message. The demand was there, and digital signage provided the technology.

With digital signs, messages on one or a thousand displays can be updated instantly. This new platform allows Data Call to tap into information sources that require constant updating, providing a dynamic and compelling display. The main message, which can also be dynamic, then has a much better chance of being seen and considered.

It’s anyone’s guess where digital signage will ultimately lead, but Data Call has established key relationships within both the signage and information resource industry. There’s little doubt that digital signage will continue to grow, and there’s now little doubt that Data Call will, as an increasingly integral part, grow with it.

DataCall Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Set To Take Off

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

DataCall Technologies Inc. is uniquely positioned to share in the explosive growth of the digital signage industry as it follows projections to become a multi-billion dollar market by 2011. DataCall provides real-time content for digital signs, key to drawing the attention of passing viewers to a sign’s main message. Their active displays include news, weather, sports, traffic, and even financial information, and have been shown to be an important component in the effective use of digital signage technologies.

The effect is compelling. Even Doppler radar imaging can now be used to provide storm tracking, making it almost impossible for targeted viewers not to look. Furthermore, studies have shown that the majority of viewers feel that the DataCall’s active content actually enhances the overall viewing experience.

DataCall has both the expertise and the needed relationships in the industry to take full advantage of what is being called the signage revolution. The company is already involved in the next wave of digital signage content, such as delivering active content video, and the implementation of interactive digital signage. This includes the potential use of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) to deliver active content directly to customers via their cell phones, and allowing viewers to create their own digital signing experience through text messaging.

In developing active content, DataCall has always given priority to three major factors:

• Reliability
• Objectivity
• Ease Of Implementation

To ensure reliability and objectivity of content, DataCall opted to license information directly from the leaders in news, weather, sports, and finance, as opposed to simply grabbing readily available feeds from the Internet. And, by handling all the licensing and sourcing up-front, DataCall addresses ease of implementation for implementers, providing a one-stop-shop for active content.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Expands International Weather Coverage

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc., content provider for the fast growing digital signage industry, announced recently that it has finalized agreements and development initiatives to provide extended weather content to the global digital signage market. Data Call has become an important player in the digital signage industry by offering a wide selection of real-time content for display on digital signs. Weather content is an especially popular and effective offering, and will now include global meteorological conditions, Doppler radar images, and weather forecasts.

Data Call’s Chief Technology Officer, Jim Tevis, commented on the new developments. “Many of our U.S. clients are beginning to deploy digital signage networks in markets outside the United States. As such, requests for global additions to the Direct Lynk product line have become more and more frequent. With weather content topping the request list, we completed the development of that product and will now turn our attention to developing and testing global additions to the rest of the Direct Lynk product line.”

The reach of Data Call’s Direct Lynk technology has grown tremendously, and now stretches around the world. The company currently offers comprehensive weather coverage to 215 countries and territories, outside North America, covering Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and even Antarctica. The addition of new highly desirable weather content options increases Data Call’s appeal as a one-stop shop for digital signage content. Venues include airports, sports arenas, banks, clinics, car dealers, manufacturing plants, elevators, and even cell phones, as well as the increasing number of large digital billboards.

And Data Call isn’t stopping there. The company is committed to expanding its product offerings, with plans to move into other vertical markets within its targeted industry.

DataCall Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Capitalizing on the Digital Signage Boom

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

DataCall Technologies is all about realizing the full potential of digital signage. Digital Signage has taken off in a big way all across the country, and the world, with spending for the new technology expected to top $1.6 billion in North America alone this year, up 24% from last year. Moreover, there are no indications that this growth will slow. That’s because of the tremendous advantages afforded by transitioning to this new way of displaying information.

Digital signage replaces old fashioned static signs with digital technology, offering a whole new range of communication possibilities. Besides providing displays that are bright and eye-catching, both day and night, it adds an entirely new dimension, the dimension of time. Most traditional signs are limited to one fixed message, with expensive and problematic mechanical signs sometimes offering two or three. But digital signs offer a virtually unlimited number of messages, programmable to change and display instantly, at any time, in any conceivable combination. Different messages can be displayed at different times of the day to target different markets. The same is true for different times of the week or month or year. Displays can also be split to offer more than one message at the same time as well as be animated, providing motion within a message.

One of the big advantages to digital signage, of course, is that the displays can be instantly updated, which is where DataCall Technologies plays a major role. DataCall offers an extensive library of continuously updated digital signage content that is a powerful draw to viewers. Up-to-the-minute news, weather, sports, traffic, financial and other information grabs viewer attention, allowing the main message to have its fullest impact.

DataCall’s revenue and customer base has show impressive growth over the past few years. Early on, the company established well thought out strategies and corporate partnerships, making it able to penetrate nearly all digital signage venues. DataCall’s feeds are now seen in hotels, medical centers, resorts, banks, restaurants, schools and universities as well as on billboards. The increasing affordability of the technology continues to fuel the growth of DataCall and the digital signage industry.

Data Call Technologies Inc. (DCLT.OB) Has Many Opportunities in the Digital Signage Industry

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc. offers a wide variety of real-time content information feeds that can be seen through digital signage networks in numerous venues. These venues include: elevators, airports, highways, shopping malls, sports stadiums and arenas.

Digital Signage Today’s survey of 600 industry executives found that 64 percent of respondents would outsource all or part of their content creation. This survey reinforces the notion that there are countless opportunities for a company like Data Call Technologies in the digital signage industry.

Whether it’s general entertainment information (news, sports, stocks, etc.) or location-targeted active content (weather, traffic, etc.), research is validating the long-held assumption that active content draws viewers to digital signage and keeps them engaged throughout the presentation. Data Call is unique in the industry with its emphasis on active, real-time content.

Over the past few years, Data Call has worked with the industry leaders in digital signage to develop the data formats and communication methods to allow the company’s active content to be easily integrated into their hardware and software products.

Data Call has enjoyed success with its active content. Arbitron conducted a survey in late 2006 which pointed out one example of the company’s success. The survey was conducted of customers exposed to a digital signage implementation installed in a fast food walk-in chain. Data Call’s active content contributed to 62 percent of those surveyed responding that the presentation enhanced their experience or made it somewhat better.

The word is getting out to the business community about what the company’s active content can do for its customers. It is little wonder then that Data Call is experiencing such rapid growth in its business.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Knows Effective Digital Signage

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc., a pioneering provider of content to augment the effectiveness of all those new digital sign displays popping up everywhere, shows the real potential of digital signage when approached correctly. Digital signage allows users to integrate the main message with eye-catching entertainment information in a uniquely effective way, if you know what you are doing.

The old school of electronic advertising, which still dominates a lot of business thinking, tends to have an entertainment display occasionally broken up with commercials, just like watching a television. The hope, of course, is that the viewer will continue to watch the commercial. But viewers, especially if the display is in a fast paced viewer environment, will simply ignore most of those commercial messages. After all, it only takes a fraction of a second for a viewer to avert their eyes and focus on something else.

Crude attempts at integrating commercial messages with entertainment have often been awkward, subsequently reducing the appeal of the entertainment instead of enhancing the effect of the commercial message. According to a survey of 600 executives, less than 6% felt that entertainment has been the most valuable digital signage tool for their business. As Digital Signage Today puts it, “Looks like those businesses hanging LCDs on the wall to show CNN or Bloomberg content might not be getting their money’s worth.”

Data Call, on the other hand, has been very successful in applying true Internet marketing principles to the digital signage environment. For example, the next time you get a chance, take a close look at Microsoft’s MSN.com home page. You’ll see that it is dominated by non-commercial content. But skillfully positioned in that colorful and attractive presentation are the ads that bring home the bacon. The viewer doesn’t have time to avert their eyes. The commercial messages get through without the viewer even thinking about it.

The fact that Data Call has learned how to do this for digital signage is the key to their success. Their active displays of news, weather, sports, traffic, and financial information are compelling and are carefully blended with the primary message in such a way that effectiveness soars. It represents a perfect example of how, when a new technology comes along, you have to go after companies that are smart enough to realize the need for a new paradigm.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) is Driving the Digital Signage Industry

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Data Call Technologies Inc. is a leading provider of infotainment feeds for the digital signage industry. The company’s information feeds can be seen throughout digital signage networks in numerous venues such as shopping malls, highways, sports stadiums and arenas.

Plasma and LCD dynamic displays are rapidly replacing printed marketing materials such as signs, placards, etc. In the past two years, as the cost of platforms, supporting infrastructure and displays has fallen dramatically, digital signage has become more accessible to a wider range of companies. The increasing demand for digital signage is the most significant indication that the industry has come of age.

Digital signage presentations are typically comprised of repeating loops of information used to brand, market or sell a company’s products or services. But once seen, this information becomes repetitive and viewers will tune it out. This results in low retention of the client’s intended message. However, as the cost of deployment decreased, companies began focusing on attention-grabbing dynamic content.

This focus on “dynamic” content is where Data Call Technologies is different than many of their competitors. Even in the earliest stages of the industry, Data Call recognized that many of the players in the industry lacked a key component that would become an integral part of any successful implementation of digital signage – active content.

As the digital signage industry has matured, the “dynamic” characteristic of the presentation has taken center stage. A pioneering company like Data Call Technologies now has a clearer picture of what digital signage is, what is needed for a successful implementation and the best use of content space. Active, dynamic content is now on many companies’ “needs” list because it is proven to draw customers to the core message and keep customers engaged throughout the presentation. Data Call stands ready to serve this rapidly growing market.

DataCall Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Vs. the Competition

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

In nearly every industry there are competitors all trying to grow their revenues and capture the largest market share. Many factors go into play in achieving market domination ranging from aggressive marketing, award winning customer service, an excellent product line, and competitive pricing. But at the end of the day, what truly matters is that sales growth is outpacing the competition.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) offers a wide array of fresh, real-time content information feeds that can be viewed throughout digital signage networks in numerous venues, including airports, sports arenas, banks, clinics, car dealers, manufacturing plants, cell phones, elevators, electronic digital billboards, and many more. As with any business, however, there is competition.

The largest competitor in the digital signage industry is Ronin Technologies, Inc. (RNIN), a company offering a complete software solution designed to address the evolving digital signage market. This technology allows clients to customize distribution with network management, playlist creation and scheduling, as well as database integration.

Earlier this month, Ronin Technologies announced its second quarter results for the current year. Revenues fell from $1.6 million to $1.0 million year-over-year. On the other hand, Data Call has been rapidly growing its revenues while simultaneously decreasing expenses. As of the last reported period, the company announced sales revenue growth of 44% while expenses decreased 22%. Data Call certainly seems to be capturing an increasing amount of the total market share while streamlining their internal processes; all signs of a well managed establishment.

Data Call Technologies hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down either. Just this month the company issued a press release announcing that its products and services are now being delivered to a total of 36 U.S. states, and hinted that it will be penetrating global markets. With growth in the digital signage expected to continue to grow to $2.6 billion this year in America alone, Data Call is well positioned with its broad array of content offerings.

Data Call Technologies, Inc. (DCLT.OB) Now Services Clients Located in 36 Different States

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Data Call Technologies, Inc. announced after the closing bell today that, to date, the company’s products and services are being delivered to 36 U.S. states. CEO and Co-Founder Tim Vance commented, “Our immediate plans are to expand into the remaining states, as well as work our way into other global markets.”

Approximately 5 years ago, Data Call began supplying a basic package of information feeds to a few digital signage deployments in Texas. At the time, the company’s aim was to add to, refine, and polish the services provided to a young, rapidly growing industry. Since then, the industry as a whole, as well as Data Call, has seen triple digit increases in the number of deployments and generated revenues. This rapid growth is expected to continue as experts project the digital signage industry, in America alone, will grow to $2.6 billion in 2010.

Last year, Data Call expanded its national reach, delivering to a total of 15 states. This growth extended the company’s reach beyond the original restaurant installs in Texas to include banks, medical facilities, gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants, office buildings, sports arenas and billboards across the country. The company’s ability to achieve this growth was mainly due to its flexibility and willingness to adapt to a fast-growing industry, while continuing innovation and offering a positive value proposition to their clients.

Over the past twelve months the industry has seen additional technology developments that are quite positive for Data Call Technologies. Among them are more user-friendly applications that drive easier and larger digital network deployments. Additionally, more and more global corporations are buying into, and investing in, digital signage.

Mr. Vance added, “While providing a well-rounded body of services to the industry, we continue to innovate new products and services that will add additional value to our current customer base. This strategy will enable us to offer an attractive product line and price point to penetrate global markets.”
