Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Scalable IT Outsourcing Solutions Feature Top-Notch Security, Project Management & Virtualization Capabilities

November 12, 2014

The IT industry has been shifting more and more from raw CAPEX (capital expenditures) towards scalable operations spending (OPEX) over the last few years, as growing demand from all sizes of enterprise customers for high-speed/anywhere data access combines with the ongoing emergence of cloud computing architectures. Global IT spending is forecast (Gartner’s Q3 2014 reportage) this year as growing 2.6% (or 3.2% if exchange rates are flattened) to around $3.8T, with 13.16% growth forecast over the next four years, as IT spending hits roughly $4.3T. The global IT services market is also forecast as tracking the broader industry metrics nicely, with around 3.8% concurrent growth in U.S. dollars and estimates that the overall IT services market will climb some 13.75% by 2018, up to $1.1T from the $967B estimated this year.

Last year’s Gartner data on the IT outsourcing (ITO) market in particular placed the overall market size at around $288B, up 2.8% year over year, further illustrating the CAPEX to OPEX shift and underscoring demand emanating from the growing security risk of allowing critical IT infrastructure to be managed by in-house amateurs. This composite demand curve has led to major success for companies like Cognizant (NASDAQ:CTSH), as well as Information Services Group (NASDAQ:III), which has seen particularly solid traction in the Asia Pacific region.

Demand remains high for scalable IT chain solutions moving forward, with SMEs (small to medium enterprises) continuing to be a ripe target for ITO providers, as this class of operation typically lacks the in-house muscle to successfully navigate the increasingly complex IT landscape. The recent Home Depot (NYSE:HD) hack, which has put nearly 56M cards at risk, occurred after months of security warnings by contractors were ignored by in-house IT managers, illustrating how even large enterprises are seriously vulnerable. The Home Depot hack comes fast on the heels of two smaller hacks at the company last year that should’ve sent up red flags, as well as more widespread hacks at other retailers and even at one of the most IT-secured operations in the U.S., the nation’s biggest bank, JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM).

For a retailer like Home Depot, with over 2.2k stores in North America and roughly $79B a year in revenues, an incident like this, which far surpasses last year’s 40M plus card breach at Target (NYSE:TGT), drives home how vulnerable in-house IT solution sets can be (even for large enterprises) and how important letting competent ITOs handle the job of IT infrastructure evolution has become. As businesses become more and more dependent on their IT infrastructure to conduct day to day operations, managers continue to turn to providers who can offer both logistical and cost efficiency improvements, as well as ensure that circumspect security protocols/best practices, backed by up-to-date and best-in-class technologies, are utilized. The same concerns facing large enterprises and SMEs exist for federal, state and local government agencies as well, where the logistical advantages of migrating IT infrastructures to virtualization solutions and SaaS-backed options (software as a service) are strikingly noticeable.

One of the leading specialists in the ITO field today, with a focus on big commercial enterprises, SMEs and government agencies, Infinite Group (OTCQB:IMCI), already has a strong reputation for comprehensive, scalable solutions. Doing everything from project management and process virtualization via cloud, to third party data storage solutions and data backup/disaster recovery, IMCI has come to be known as top provider of managed services, who can be trusted with complex sever management and support tasks like remote monitoring/remote desktop, as well as remediation. Infinite Group even offers services like help desk and call center support.

Advanced solutions like the hybrid, scalable cloud hosting and server/desktop virtualization provided by IMCI offer SMEs in particular a unified communications alternative that not only improves overall operational performance, but addresses the need to support rapidly proliferating mobile platforms, which have become crucial to many businesses. A firm dedication to customer service and the ability to rapidly up-staff to handle prevailing customer demands, is another reason IMCI has seen public and private sector operators alike beat a path to their door, not to mention their steadfast commitment to providing cutting-edge information security options.

In the hectic world of modern IT, SMEs especially require the kind of total-package scalable solutions a company like Infinite Group can provide and their tight-knit team of over eighty IT specialists, backed by an ISO 9000-compliant quality management system, goes a long ways towards making sure each individual client has a tailored solution that is right for their organization.

October 30, 2014

Infinite Group Inc. (“IGI”) is a technology firm based out of Pittsford, NY that specializes in commercial IT support and solutions. The company was originally based in Rochester, NY but had to change locations last June due to a heavy increase in staff. IGI is focused on advancing services such as cloud computing, information security, managed services and a multitude of other computer solutions. In addition to working with commercial businesses and software designers, IGI’s clients consist of segments of the United States Government. A significant amount of energy is directed towards improving the computer systems of the United States Armed Forces at military bases at home and across the globe.

Although IGI has been focused on government contracts for some time, the company recently gained a way to expand their government focused services even more. Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Expands Service Offerings for Exponential Growth Opportunities

October 24, 2014

Based out of Pittsford, New York, Infinite Group (or in shortened terms, IGI) is a full-scale information technology (IT) service and support provider. Over its 25-plus years of business, the firm has emerged as a premier IT service and support supplier for clients of all sizes. These include large-scale corporations, government agencies, and growing numbers of small-to-medium enterprises, software companies, and professional service organizations.

Infinite Group’s professionals have built up an impressive client roster. Clientele includes Pepsi, the State of Mississippi, Home Depot, NASA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Florida Department of Financial Services, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Marine Corps. For client needs, IGI draws upon a deep bench of highly experienced and qualified IT professionals with the latest certifications (VMware, NetApp, Microsoft, ITIL, CMMI, Cisco, HP, IBM, Linux, Novell, Sun, Lean Six Sigma Black belt, Compaq, and more). The firm itself is ISO 9001 certified and holds numerous partner certifications.

Earlier this year, Infinite Group signified its intention to grow quickly, especially by beefing up clientele among small and medium sized companies, and government agencies. With that goal in mind, it has taken steps to increase its visibility among the investor and business communities. Infinite Group has also been bulking up its full-scale IT offerings with new services that meet these demographic groups’ needs. Over these last 10 months, IGI has added content management, data recovery, and cybersecurity to its robust portfolio of IT services and support.

Content Management

Content management is a growing tech segment, especially among government entities. Recognizing this, Infinite Group recently formed an exclusive channel partnership with ThirtySix Software. This arrangement presents new opportunities for IGI to offer value on government projects with ThirtySix’s SmartDocs software product. SmartDocs enhances use of Microsoft Word by enabling users to share documents across Microsoft Word easily and efficiently. It accomplishes this by making content reusable wherever and whenever.

Along with the new partnership, IGI introduced Ms. Laila Benarab, a 15-year veteran of high-tech B2B sales, as its Vice President of Sales for its Content Management Practice. Benarab was tasked with increasing IGI’s client base in content management services, developing relationships with new and existing technology partners, and offering best practices to IGI’s existing client base.

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is a growing sector within the IT industry. Infinite Group has already been operating in this market, but has recently taken steps to extend its base of cybersecurity line of business. In March 2014, IGI announced the hire of cybersecurity expert Frank McIntire as Vice President of Sales for growing its cybersecurity service division. It was announced that McIntire would focus on opening new client accounts with commercial enterprises; federal, state, and local governments; and small-to-medium enterprises, and relationship development with new and existing tech partners.

McIntire has a respected, extensive background in cybersecurity for commercial and governmental applications. His record includes leadership in U.S. and global operations for Air Force and Pentagon programs; support roles for Air University, Air Force Space Command, and the Air Force Academy; and involvement in numerous IT roles for stakeholders in the Department of Defense, intelligence community, and commercially-focused organizations.

Data Recovery

Data recovery is a growing concern among small and medium sized companies. Recognizing this, Infinite Group formed a partnership agreement in May 2014 with UniTrends, a fast-rising provider in the IT protection and disaster recovery industry. With this partnership, IGI small and medium enterprise clients will benefit from efficient solutions for retention, recovery, replication, and archiving as well as disaster recovery orchestration and governance. In a nutshell, IGI data recovery clients will enjoy enhanced protection for their critical data as well as greatly minimized timetables for restoration of server functions, when needed.

Closing Thoughts

While Infinite Group expands its client base in these areas, it continues to deliver scalable, cost-effective IT services and solutions customized to every client’s needs. Aside from these newly-added offerings, IGI’s current service and support offering roster includes:

• Managed Services
• Business Process Optimization and Management
• Cloud Computing
• Capacity Planning Analysis
• Mobility
• Program & Project Management
• Unified Communications
• Systems Engineering
• Information Security
• Staff Augmentation
• Business Continuity Planning
• Consulting

As the $500 billion IT spending market continues to grow, IGI looks to expand its sizable market presence and emerge as an even stronger leader in IT service and support solutions.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) – Growing with Intention in the Managed IT Services Field

October 2, 2014

As more and more companies have turned to outsourcing their information technology needs, the Infinite Group, Inc. (“IGI”) has had to adapt to remain relevant in the managed IT services marketplace. In January 2014, IGI declared its commitment to expanding its business exponentially and, so far, it has kept its promise. IGI has approached its expansion efforts with intention, using a two-pronged approach to increase both its business development and product development activities.

Business Development

Over the course of the last three quarters, IGI has focused significant energy on raising its profile in the investment and business communities. To increase its visibility with small-to-medium sized businesses, government agencies and large organizations, the company retained a public relations firm and an investor relations firm in late January 2014. Both firms were tasked with handling IGI’s contact with external stakeholders and potential investors and with increasing its exposure by promoting and dispersing compelling content about the company to the general public.

Service Offerings

This year, IGI has also extended its collection of services to include content management, cyber security and data recovery.

Content Management
To cater to clients repeatedly calling for digital content management support, IGI added the service to its list of offerings. In July 2014, IGI revealed that it had tasked Laila Benarab, one of its new vice president of sales, to lead its content management practice, build its customer base, and cultivate relationships with existing and potential tech partners.

Cyber Security
IGI is also using its established roots in technology to capitalize on the fast-rising cyber security industry. Earlier in the year, IGI chose a well-known cyber security expert, Frank McIntire, to bolster and expand its cyber security division. Mr. McIntire, a former director of IT operations for KPMG and Oracle, was tasked with augmenting the company’s customer list, strengthening relationships with old and new strategic partners, and bringing the best practices in cyber security to IGI.

Data Recovery
In May 2014, IGI partnered with Unitrends, an up-and-comer in IT protection and disaster recovery industry. As a result of this partnership, IGI can now offer Unitrends’ backup, archiving, and disaster recovery technology to its customers and they, in turn, can protect and preserve their physical, virtual, and cloud environments at a low cost.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Highly Certified IT Pros & a Comprehensive Unified Communications Approach Ideal for Hack-Heavy New Retail Reality

September 25, 2014

In the wake of yet another high-profile hacking incident with a major U.S. retailer, this time a breach at Home Depot compromising some 56M cards, with malware having been injected into its open payment processing system (since April, confirmed by the company itself) and just sitting there waiting to prey on customers, there is sharply renewed interest in the subject of outsourcing IT and unified communications to competent specialist firms who truly understand the rapidly evolving digital security landscape. This is the latest in a series of recent attacks that DHS and the Secret Service have quantified as having affected as many as 1k retailers or more. One of the most notable examples is last year’s Target (NYSE:TGT) breach, whose official $61M loss is peanuts compared to the estimated $1B to $2B aggregate total cost estimates calculated by the company’s executives when all external factors are considered, including impact to brand identity with returning and new customers.

With the potential impact of the Home Depot (NYSE:HD) breach now looking like it extends to all 2.2k stores (400 more than Target) and all indicators thus far pointing back to Home Depot, the company is scrambling to handle the digital forensics and cope with overall impact to daily operations. Home Depot has even tapped top cybersecurity firms Symantec and FishNet Security to do costly curing of their network ills, which could’ve likely been prevented altogether with a more comprehensive approach to their digital security envelope. Not to mention having prevented the “materially adverse effect on Home Depot’s financial results in Q4 and/or future periods,” foreseen by the company and stated in a press release.

The Home Depot brand perception has already taken a big hit since the story broke. With the YouGov BrandIndex rating off by 75%, the case serves as just the latest in a long line of canary-in-the-coal-mine hack attacks, even occurring against seemingly sophisticated operations you wouldn’t expect to be vulnerable. Take the JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) security breach late last month, which may have also included five other financial institutions (the source of which is still unclear) and you being to realize how serious the problem truly is. JPM has one of the largest and most sophisticated detection and security cordons in the world today, yet hackers were able to get their foot literally right in the front door, exploiting an overlooked vulnerability in one of the bank’s own sites, leading to a deluge of malicious code throughout the network of what is the largest bank in the entire U.S.

The iron is hot for companies specializing in comprehensive IT solutions to strike and one of the smaller players in the space today, Infinite Group, Inc. (OTCM:IMCI), is a play worth evaluating thoroughly, given their solid track record providing full-spectrum IT services to heavy-hitters like Hewlett Packard, Pepsi, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Additionally, the company’s VMware® virtualization implementations have been used by NASA and the USAF, as well as the Army, Navy, and Marines. Home Depot, which already makes use of such VMware solutions, perhaps should’ve sent more business IMCI’s way top begin with and they wouldn’t be dealing with such expensive/unwieldy damage control.

Piecemeal approaches to the IT landscape can be difficult to maintain and this is where company’s like IMCI will thrive in coming years, as the security vulnerabilities at even major corporations becoming increasingly apparent and more clearly linked to a lack of bringing in true specialists to handle the entire package. This phenomenon is widespread though, given the natural progression of IT over the last decade and the relatively piecemeal solutions employed by even some of the largest corporations. IMCI prides itself on being able to handle the IT problem in a soup-to-nuts fashion, providing robust solutions that are appropriate for commercial enterprises of all sizes, as well as much more stringent government agencies. IMCI is a trusted small-business GSA (General Services Administration, independent U.S. government agency which helps manage the basic functions of other agencies) IT service and support supplier that handles on-site support in places like D.C., as well as at forward military locations.

With a tightly-knit team of highly certified IT pros (including ISO 9001, Cisco, IBM, Linux, Microsoft and many others), IMCI is able to take a given unified communication services roll out from planning and design, through project management and the eventual system installations, as well as service/support.

September 12, 2014

With technological developments in recent decades, business processes and priorities have greatly changed. Increasing numbers of organizations are outsourcing their information technology (IT) needs to capable, experienced IT services and support providers. With its full spectrum of customized IT offerings, New York-based Infinite Group has positioned itself to capitalize on this growing trend.

Since its appearance over 25 years ago, Infinite Group has steadily morphed itself into one of today’s leading IT services and support firms. Today Infinite Group efficiently handles the comprehensive IT needs of a diverse client base, ranging from government and military agencies to large-scale corporations, medium-sized companies, and small businesses. The firm’s capable professionals plan, integrate, manage, and support complete IT systems so their clients are freed up to do what they do best— focus on their own operations.

The global market in which Infinite Group operates, the managed IT services industry, is a healthy-growing space. The research firm MarketsandMarkets valued it at $143 billion in 2013. And with an estimated CAGR of 12.4% from 2013 to 2018, managed IT services spending is expected to reach a hefty $256 billion in 2018—a 79.3% increase. Analyst firm TechNavio attributes much of this growth to the increasing number of organizations shifting from a capital expense model to an operating expense model. Increasing demand for cloud-based offerings is also thought to be a driving factor here.

Infinite Group’s leadership in this competitive market can be seen in clientele it has signed and retained. The firm’s impressive client roster includes corporate and public sector juggernauts such as: Pepsi, the State of Mississippi, Home Depot, NASA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Florida Department of Financial Services, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Marine Corps. Their continued patronage speaks to the Infinite Group team’s efficacy and serves up an indicator of what Infinite Group’s potential can be in this growing industry.

On top of an experienced, forward-thinking management team led by company CEO Jim Villa, Infinite Group is bolstered by its roster of 80 highly-experienced and savvy IT professionals who have all the latest certification measures. With this capable infrastructure in place, Infinite Group can deliver superior service and support at highly competitive rates. Infinite Group also delivers additional value in the form of on-site client support through its strategic personnel locations throughout the United States; especially for its governmental clientele with its offices in Spring and Vienna Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Well-Positioned to Serve Government Agencies, Military with Full-Spectrum IT Solutions

September 5, 2014

Infinite Group, a fast-growing IT service and on-site support supplier dedicated to delivering truly comprehensive IT architectures to their SME, government and large enterprise clients, made a big move in July via an exclusive government channel partner agreement with SmartDocs developer ThirtySix Software. The move to team up with the creator of one of the leading Microsoft Word content management and reuse systems available today amplifies Infinite Group’s already established presence in the government/military sector where the company even sees action in forward locations providing IT boots on the ground.

The kind of full-spectrum IT support and services Infinite Group provides, ranging from planning and systems integration, to downstream management and field support, is good enough to satisfy even the mission critical needs of government agencies and military around the world. The ThirtySix partnership is fully in-line with Infinite Group’s overarching business expansion plans for 2014 and adds a key tech component to the company’s already show-stopping product mix, providing the kind of granular yet easy to use content management solution needed by government agencies and military most of all.

The exceedingly complex and often hectic work environment for this segment is served quite well by the rich feature set available in SmartDocs, which enables key workflow improvements like highly intuitive search, conditional document approval, tracking, configurable metadata, and bulk updates. Bringing 15-year B2B sales veteran Laila Benarab onboard as Infinite Group’s VP of Sales, is also a huge play and one which will likely accelerate uptake of the company’s broader support and service offerings. Benarab has an impressive track record with giants like Motorola and Oracle, also having worked with Computer Sciences Corp., supporting the EPA on a Federal Government IT contract; she knows the ropes and understands how to make big plays in the government contract game.

SmartDocs is real eye candy for Infinite Group when it comes to government agencies, and the ThirtySix agreement follows fast on the heels of the company’s deal with IT protection and disaster recovery outfit, Unitrends. Unitrends is a provider of robust, customized data backup platforms for what now stands at well over an exabyte of client data, yet these guys manage to retain an impressive 98% customer satisfaction rating. The company’s Certified Recovery Suite was ranked No. 1 by IT industry analyst group DCIG (composed of industry veterans) in their 2014-2015 Virtual Server Backup Buyer’s Guide. Unitrends brings together hardware and virtual appliance approaches, as well as off-site cloud storage, to create a sweeping, multi-environment umbrella that is reinforced by tight reporting, testing and verification protocols.

Forrester Research and Gartner data on IT sector spending are tracking well, with around $2.1 to $2.7 trillion being spent in the last two years respectively worldwide. The roster of extant clients retained by Infinite Group is an impressive indicator of their future potential in light of these metrics, with everything on the docket from DHS and the USAF, Army, Marines and Navy, to NASA, HP, Home Depot and Pepsi. You don’t hang onto clients like these without a superb team of highly experienced IT professionals to back you up, and Infinite Group is known throughout the industry for its relatively small but highly effective team of 80 or so techs stationed in key locales throughout the U.S., including Colorado Springs, Vienna (Virginia), Springfield, and D.C.

Gartner Trims 2014 IT Industry Projections; Expectations for Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Growth Remains Unchanged

August 28, 2014

Though businesses increasingly view information technology (IT) as a critical component to their success, the global IT market is forecast to experience 2.1% growth to $2.7 trillion for 2014, a downward revision from Gartner’s original spending growth forecast. Operating from its headquarters in Pittsford, New York, IT solutions provider Infinite Group serves small to medium-sized businesses, government agencies and large commercial enterprises. The company’s confidence for success amid slimmed market predictions centers on the high quality of its specialists and pool of key industry partners.

Infinite Group’s wide range of scalable solutions covers the entire IT chain and creates a balance of opportunity to compensate for broader industry weakness, should it arise, in one particular area. Services include consulting and project management, data storage and recovery solutions, IT security, managed services, and complete IT system development. By providing customers a single point of contact for all their IT needs, Infinite Group enables companies to focus on their core business by improving IT efficiencies, reducing capital expenditures, and achieving significant savings on operational costs.

Infinite Group’s roster of more than 80 IT specialists is comprised of experienced individuals with extensive knowledge in their respective individual fields, backed with the latest industry certifications. From locations throughout the United States and Washington D.C., these professionals provide on-site support to customers around the world and serve some of the premiere businesses and government organizations in the United States and worldwide including the U.S. Post Office, PepsiCo, Inc., the State of Mississippi, Home Depot, NASA, PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Florida Department of Financial Services, the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, and others.

Company professionals are guided by a management team armed with decades of experience and technical knowledge, adhering to highest governance and business conduct guidelines. To ensure customers receive highest quality products and services matched to their specific needs, Infinite Group’s management team has established partnerships with Top industry leaders such as VMware, HP, Microsoft, Cisco and Dell.

Infinite Group earlier this month entered into an exclusive channel partnership agreement with ThirtySix Software, creator of the innovative software product, SmartDocs, which provides content management and content reuse solutions that help writers streamline content creation and maintenance across Microsoft Word documents.

Content management is emerging as a high-demand tech segment, and as Infinite Group continues to take advantage of opportunities to secure its foothold in the IT industry, the company plans to leverage its relationship with ThirtySix Software to provide customers with the SmartDocs content management solution.

Heading up Infinite Group’s Content Management Practice is the division’s newly appointed vice president of sales Laila Benarab, who is responsible for increasing Infinite Group’s customer base in content management services, developing relationships with current and new technology partners, and bringing the latest best practices to each client.

Despite a narrowed outlook for IT spending in 2014, Gartner expects the global industry to continue to increase to 3.2% growth by 2018. Infinite Group has laid the tracks for maintaining its position as a valuable and competitive industry player while leaving room for as-needed refinement, proving that a short lag in the broader industry doesn’t have to nick company value.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Applies Multi-Faceted Corporate Strategy

August 21, 2014

Part of the Infinite Group’s corporate strategy involves the pursuit of high-growth market segments, addition of product and consulting options to its IT solutions mix, and search for experts to grow the business. Evidence of the company’s methods can be seen in a number of decisions and announcements made earlier this year.

March 2014

In March, the Infinite Group (IGI) hired Frank McIntire, a recognized cyber security specialist, to develop its cyber security division and capitalize on this booming industry. Mr. McIntire is a former director of US and global operations for Pentagon and Air Force programs and IT operations for KPMG Consulting and Oracle Corp. As VP of Sales at IGI, he is tasked with growing the company’s customer base, building relationships with technology partners, and developing cyber security procedures for the company and its customers.

May 2014

In May, IGI partnered with Unitrends, an emerging provider of IT protection and disaster recovery services. As a result of this partnership, IGI bolstered its service portfolio. The company is now able to offer Unitrends’ backup, archiving, and disaster recovery technology to its customers, who can now safeguard their physical, virtual, and cloud environments at low costs.

July 2014

In July, after repeated requests from clients, IGI decided to add content management support to its list of solutions. Content management is a growing tech segment that covers the management of all digital content (text, images, multimedia, and so on) from creation to distribution to storage and deletion. In the same month, IGI hired Laila Benarab to lead its content management practice and build the company’s customer base in this area. Ms. Benarab has 15-plus years of high-tech and business-to-business sales experience gained from working with government agencies and private companies, including Oracle and Motorola.

For close to thirty years, the Infinite Group has supplied IT service and support to small and medium-sized enterprises, government agencies, and large commercial businesses. The company’s IT consultants have planned, integrated, managed, and supported complete IT systems and provided on-site support to customers around the world, including some in forward military locations. The Infinite Group’s personnel are also based throughout the U.S., including New York, Colorado, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., in order to provide additional customer support.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Comprehensive, Tailored IT Solutions & Strong Mix of Partner Capabilities Woos Client Variety, from SMEs to Government

August 14, 2014

Infinite Group has carved out a sizeable niche market for itself alleviating the strain on SMEs, governmental agencies, and even large enterprises created by increasingly complex and mission-critical IT concerns. The company provides its customers with robust end-to-end IT solutions, ranging from assessment and planning, to integration and management. IMCI is one of the top providers of solutions based on the cloud/virtualization technology pioneered by the guys who were the first to virtualize the x86 architecture, VMware®. IMCI is also notable for having heavyweight government clients like NASA and the USAF (as well as the other service branches), in addition to a healthy variety of sizeable industry players like HP, Pepsi, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Home Depot.

Armed with an expert staff of professionals that can design and execute custom tailored solutions on a per-client basis, IMCI never shies away from any job, no matter how big or how small, meeting the needs equally well of huge enterprises and sprawling government agencies, or humble little businesses with only a few computers. The value proposition is simple, IMCI allows a company to confidently outsource their IT to a highly responsive and sophisticated provider that can virtualize environments and take the burden off internal personnel. Personnel who many times (especially in the case of SMEs) end up pulling double duty and thus lose focus on growing the company. IMCI’s real selling point to the customers who drive the company’s bottom line is their ability to really do it all and just let customers basically stop worrying about the details of the technically complex IT toolset they need to get the job done. On-site support to customers is a major key to IMCI’s success and their history of providing IT support at forward military installations, as well as prime locations throughout the U.S., like Colorado Springs; Vienna, VA and Washington, DC, attests to the level of professionalism that is just standard operating procedure at Infinite Group.

The company’s secure, scalable cloud computing offerings are particularly attractive to the likes of government agencies that are looking to get leaner and meaner in the IT department. Whether we are talking off-site data storage and desktop virtualization, or server virtualization and public/private hybrid cloud, customers have the advantage of turning their complex in-house solutions into a simple monthly line item on the budget. The exclusive channel partner agreement announced in early July this year with ThirtySix Software, the developer of the innovative, multi document-spanning content management/reuse solution for Microsoft® Word® (and the web-app framework SharePoint), SmartDocs, makes IMCI even more appealing to government customers in particular. With SmartDocs in the tool belt, IMCI effectively extends their striking distance among Word/SharePoint customers in general, as these customers gain the highly sought after ability to consistently and easily share/reuse content across documents whenever and wherever, yet within a secure and highly intuitive environment. This is an environment which sports tight Word integration and features like conditional text marking, SmartFinders (rapidly find authored/approve content), SmartBuilders (interview-style wizard that automatically assembles documents) and snapshotting for rapid publish prototyping. For government agencies, this kind of no-brainer upgrading to improved usability in their IT infrastructure is vital, as it improves data flow among personnel, as well as systemic reliability and efficiency, all of which impact the mission.

Many private companies have their IT managed by internal people, often leading to inefficient internet, telephone and other communication systems emerging, typically due to a relative lack of experience or an inability to implement properly scaled/modernized solutions. Moreover, having to manage such a complex aspect of the guts of the business generally distracts key personnel from being able to otherwise focus time, resources and manpower on growing the core of the business model. This sad state of affairs is an all-too-common phenomena these days as IT becomes more and more complicated. The steady growth of this problem creates tremendous opportunities for a company like IMCI.

Another recent partnership which allows IMCI to punch further above its weight is the one with rising star of the IT protection and disaster recovery world, Unitrends, whose tailored data protection capabilities encompass off-site cloud, as well as virtual appliance, and hardware appliance solutions. Unitrends is focused on offering a hearty mix of methodologies that allows for a more customized protection and recovery solution fit to the specific customer’s needs. Unitrends is also Channel Partner-centric as an organization, thriving off precisely this sort of team up.

The Unitrends/ Infinite Group partnership creates an opportunity for IMCI customers to do unprecedentedly simplified multi-environment protection of their critical data and customer retention for the duo will likely be driven here in large part by the tight testing, verification and reporting protocols from Unitrends that ensure customer’s ability to restore operational functionality in the event of a disaster. This kind of over-the-horizon protection also allows C-Level executives, as well as compliance auditors, to muster force in the face of a potential disaster and head off any major costs associated therewith at the pass.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI): The New Class of Management IT Consultant Companies

July 25, 2014

Infinite Group helps free businesses from having to manage their information technology (IT), so those companies can focus on their core business. Infinite Group is essentially a consulting firm focused on aiding companies with outsourcing their information technology, augmenting their IT staff, aiding with communication and mobility needs, providing services like project management, enhancing security of IT, as well as services like business process re-engineering which aid companies in how to re-think work flow in order to cut organizational costs and improve competitiveness.

According to analyst firm MarketsandMarkets, Infinite Group falls into the category of businesses referred to as managed IT services which is estimated to be at least a $143 billion market growing at a rate of 12.4% per annum, and expected to be a $323 billion market by 2020. High demand for such services is expected to continue as implementation of managed services reduces an enterprises’ IT costs by anywhere from 30 to 40%. It has been suggested that this estimate could be overtly conservative, as when the third-party management of private, hybrid and public cloud assets are factored in, the total growth of the managed services market could double.

Although advisors to the rich and powerful have existed throughout nearly all of human history, management consulting firms didn’t really begin to exists till the early 1900s, when Frederick Winslow Taylor published his monograph on “The Principles of
Scientific Management” in 1911, helping corporations like Bethlehem Steel increase their productivity by organizing their workflow with time-motion studies. Over the decades, the majority of consulting practices were organized in the same structure as law firms, using the private partnership model, with businesses like Booz, Allen, & Hamilton, McKinsey, Arthur Anderson, and others. The majority of consultants were academics, engineers, and recent MBA graduates. Entering into the 1990s, the importance of restructuring the IT infrastructure of major corporations and government agencies picked up in earnest, and divisions of major public corporations like IBM’s Global Solutions Group filled that niche.

Since then major changes in the consulting business began to occur as we transitioned from the late 1990s into the 2000s. Many of the consulting firms structured as partnerships were also working on the audits of the finances of major corporations, and this was seen as a conflict of interests. Greater value was placed on entrepreneurial individuals with years of industry experience over MBA new hires. Wide-ranging business strategy planning consultancy was valued less than nuts-and-bolts implementation of cost reducing outsourced IT. The large partnership firms didn’t go away, but there has been an ongoing transition to publicly traded firms such as Razor Fish, and Sapient. With the advent of new computational technologies, newer companies are coming to market to capture their share of an explosively growing market.

Infinite Group was one of the earliest managed IT services firms to offer platform virtualization services. With virtualization, rather than have several computer servers each running with their own operating system which are accessed by their corporate users, one larger computer server effectively has virtual servers of which each user has his own private account, and such access reduces costs. With cloud computing, shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility over a private network or the Internet. Cloud computing to reduce costs for business has been a key driver of growth for the Infinite Group. With nearly 100 employees, Infinite Group has a strong track record of delivering services to large institutional customers like Hewlett Packard and Pepsi, as well as working for numerous government agencies. It won’t be long before the partnership firms of yesteryear like McKinsey & Company and Accenture become replaced with aggressively growing upstarts like the Infinite Group, Inc.

Infinite Group, Inc. (IMCI) Commits Resources to Growth

June 18, 2014

New York-based Infinite Group, Inc. (IGI) is committed to expanding in 2014.

For nearly three decades, IGI has utilized all of its deep-rooted pull in the technology industry to supply advanced security solutions and all-inclusive IT systems that meet its customers’ cost-saving and productivity needs. For close to 30 years, IGI has been steadfast about providing the most highly developed products to clients that range from small businesses with a few computers to large organizations with thousands. Now, IGI is committing resources to expanding its place within the managed IT services market, a space that is expected to grow exponentially in the future.

There has been a noticeable shift in the IT service and support model from spending to outsourcing, and IGI is making moves to take advantage of this market opportunity. To that effect, IGI’s latest business development activities have focused on raising its profile in the investor and business communities.

For some time now, IGI has endeavored to increase its presence in the small-to-medium sized business, government and enterprise IT marketplace, and retaining a public relations firm is vital to the success of its plan. An established public relations firm can properly manage IGI’s strategic marketing communications and public outreach. Better yet, one with a lot of experience in the high-tech arena will add strategic vision and dynamic execution to IGI’s marketing programs.

Similarly, IGI has been interested in increasing its exposure to the investment community so it is directing resources towards investment relations. IGI is looking for a combination of different yet complementary marketing avenues (including social media) that will transform into one dynamic approach to its investor outreach. The company is especially interested in strategies that will use compelling content about IGI and its industries to engage scores of different types of investors.
