Beacon Equity Research Featured Company: KAL Energy, Inc. (KALG)

Monday, February 25th, 2008

KAL Energy, Inc. (KALG) is a junior mining company focused on exploring and developing the Thermal Coal resources of Kalimantan, Indonesia in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, as guided by the Equator principles. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Thatcher Mining Pte. Ltd., the Company owns two coal concessions near the Mahakam River in North Eastern Kalimantan, Indonesia.

KAL Energy has commenced drilling programs at its two coal concessions to determine the commercial viability of mining these areas. The Company plans to develop and sell coal from its concessions for base load electricity generating customers. Initial tests of the coal samples indicate that the coal has low ash and sulfur content. The coal also has moderate calorie value, making it more environmentally friendly.

KAL Energy plans to “ramp-up” production with the goal of producing 5 million tons of coal annually and eventually reaching its long term goal of 15 million tons of annual coal production. The company plans to export their coal globally. KAL Energy is poised for robust revenue and cash flow growth in part because coal is in high demand from developing countries like India and China since they use the coal for power generation.
