Serving the New York Tri-State area, Pulse 87 has millions of listeners who tune in on a daily basis. President and COO David Kokakis has been involved with the company since February of 2006. Mr. Kokakis’ expansive knowledge of the recording industry goes hand in hand with his entrepreneurial spirit and experience as an entertainment attorney. For six years he practiced law, representing several top names in rock and urban music such as Godsmack, Lil’ Bow-Wow, and Three 6 Mafia. David plays a key role in Mega Media’s subsidiary, Skeleton Key Entertainment.

Gennady Pomeranets (CPA) joined the ranks at the same time as his aforementioned colleague, in February of 2006. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for the group. His experience as a CPA has thoroughly familiarized him with both the entertainment and fashion industries.

Executive Vice President of Mega Media’s radio division, Timothy Joseph is a name readily recognized by many people, especially in the hip-hop community. Mr. Joseph was one of the publishers responsible for “Around the Wa Connections” from 1993 to 1997, as well as authoring the well-known “Reality Check” column in The Source magazine from 1995 to 1998. He worked for several stations prior to arriving at Pulse 87.

Overall, Mega Media Group boasts a board of directors with decades of collective experience in the entertainment and recording industries. Without these people, Mega Media Group might not have been built into the impressive empire it is today.

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) Heats Up With the Summer Months

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) has been working diligently on marketing their subsidiary, Pulse 87 FM, during the summer months. The company’s website, www.pulse87.com, launched back in May, specifically targets the demographic of 18-49 year olds. The site was created to allow listeners receive the latest and most intriguing entertainment news and updates on events, as well as listen to live broadcasts and send in music requests. The company believed a website to be a pivotal move in gaining more consumers since many of them use computers daily, and having access to the station through the web will only increase the station’s listener-base.

During the summer months Mega Media began to create new ways to expand on their listeners’ base. They participated in community events and on June 1st, Pulse 87 was the exclusive radio station for the 5th Avenue Festival held in Brooklyn, NY. The station brought their radio personalities to the stage to meet listeners and to host the event, which included star performances by artists and celebrities. The estimated attendance for the annual event was estimated to be over 150,000 people.

Chip Cafiero, event manager for the 5th Avenue Festival, said, “We are very excited that Pulse 87 is starting to see increases in audience listening and recognition in our market. As a result of this growing popularity we are starting to see more recognized brands advertise on the station.”

“We are very excited that Pulse 87 is starting to see increases in audience listening and recognition in our market. As a result of this growing popularity we are starting to see more recognized brands advertise on the station,” commented Alex Shvarts, CEO of Mega Media. “Festivals and events such as the 5th Avenue Festival increase listener ratings and attract sponsorship dollars from larger brands looking for local exposure; sponsorship revenue is a substantial revenue stream for Radio Stations which our marketing and sales team is tapping into.”

As the new website continues to bring in new listeners, Pulse 87 FM intends on exposing their customers to some of the most popular DJ’s and producers in the business. Their new lineup of weekly shows seems to be creating a buzz throughout the New York City area and is bringing in additional listeners every day. Mega Media has recently completed negotiations with several major brands including Jive Records, Ultra Records, NY Minute Group, Sobe Life Water Brand, Paragon Honda, and Major Auto World, as well as other local advertisers.

The latest estimates show that Pulse 87 has a weekly audience of over 450,000 listeners, with the website consisting of over 60,000 visits, 19 million hits, and over 125,000 Live Streaming Sessions following the major re-launch of the site in May. This fall New York will be introduced to the launching of the Arbitron personal people meter (PPM) system. This system tracks consumer exposure to media and entertainment by recording inaudible codes that are embedded into a broadcast signal. Pulse 87 is looking forward to the launch of the PPM system to that they can receive better statistics of the footprint it has on the New York region.

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) Finds Tremendous Success with Pulse 87 FM

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) is a multimedia entertainment holding company that offers a variety of services. Mega’s subsidiaries offer: music recording, production, and distribution; video production; and radio broadcasting. The company is currently best known for its New York radio station, Pulse 87 FM (WNYZ-LP).

Since Mega launched Pulse 87 in February of this year, it has become one of New York’s hottest radio stations. The station concentrates on playing top 40 hits, the latest pop songs, and exclusive remixes. With limited commercial interruptions, Pulse 87 has drawn the attention of top DJs from around the world who feel the station’s format is a good fit for their original and extensive dance mixes.

Upon the launch in February, one of the highest-rated shows in New York radio history – “The Star & Buc Wild Morning Show” – has made Pulse 87 its home. Star and Buc Wild are national radio personalities who, in 2000, were the first to beat the Howard Stern Show for top ranking in New York. In 2004, the pair launched Power 105 where they topped their previous ratings. With the popularity of the pair, at one time the show generated over $12 million in annual advertising revenue.

Pulse 87 has also implemented a line of well-known DJ’s and producers in its weekly programming to keep the music flowing:
DJ Serg – “Nooner at Noon” – Noon every weekday
DJ James Anthony – “Free Ride @ 5″ – 5PM every weekday
Johnny Budz – “B.P.M. @ 8PM” – 8PM every weeknight
DJ Yonny – “Friday Night Fix” – 10PM every Friday
Mike Rizzo – “Area 51″ – midnight every Friday
DJ Boris / Glenn Friscia – “Up All Night” – 2AM every Friday night
Glenn Friscia – “Pulse 87 Saturday Night Dance Party” – 10PM every Saturday night
Jonathan Peters – “Up All Night” – 2AM every Saturday night

Pulse 87 doesn’t just concentrate on what the in-station crew produces. To add dimension and a local flavor, the station is divided into three categories – news, talk radio, and music programming. The news programming includes segments on lifestyle, headlines, and entertainment. The talk show programming pulls a variety of guests from celebrities to politicians. Additionally, Mega has a portable studio and road crew that is out in the New York City streets interacting with listeners and producing live segments at local hotspots. Incorporating these segments keeps the station in tune with local interests and listeners.

Another way that the station stays on the pulse of the city is through its website, www.Pulse87.com. Listeners can log onto their computers to get the latest celebrity gossip, breaking news, a list of upcoming local events, participate in contests, request a song in the rotation, and stream live. For those looking for a partner, there is an online singles link where listeners can meet and chat. Additionally, the site even allows users to download new ringtones and download music, as Mega has agreements with iTunes, Masterbeat, and Beatport.

The station has designed an infrastructure that allows it to stay in touch with its target audience of 18- to 49-year-olds. And we all know that marketing dollars are spent where consumers gravitate. With its ever-growing popularity, advertisers are knocking on the door of Pulse 87. The station now has marketing agreements with several major brands, including Jive Records, Ultra Records, NY Minute Group, Sobe Life Water Brand, Paragon Honda, and Major Auto World, as well as other local advertisers.

Mega has made the most of its time since the launch of Pulse 87. It has built a solid foundation and has kept in touch with its audience. The positive word on the street continues to bring more listeners to the station each week. It looks like the people of New York and surrounding communities are gravitating towards the full-time dance format at Pulse 87.

Mega Media Group Inc.’s (MMDA.OB) Pulse 87 FM Receiving Rave Reviews For Its Unique Style

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Pulse 87 FM, WNYZ-LP, has quickly become New York’s hottest dance music radio station playing top 40 hits, exclusive remixes and the hottest pop songs today. The station has been drawing in loyal listeners from other New York stations because of the real dance music and limited commercial interruptions. Thus far, 2008 has been a great year in the world of dance music, and Pulse 87 has been capitalizing. Emerging stars like Rhianna and Cascada are making sure there is a lot of danceable R&B and pop right now that is a perfect fit for the dance community.

In addition to a great mix of dance music, Pulse 87 has also recruited the talents of Star & Buc Wild, the long-time, New York morning show hosts. Star & Buc Wild bring a large audience with them from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the five boroughs of New York City. Sean Ross, a writer from theinfinitedial.com, summed up Pulse 87’s lineup by breaking it down as: 40% freestyle and lost ’80s/early ’90s dance; about 20% current pure dance product; and 40% dance remixes of current pop and R&B hits.

The feedback on Ross’ article has been immense. It seems that Pulse 87 has answered the need New Yorker’s have for a full-time dance music station. Listeners to rival stations Z100 and KTU have been switching to Pulse 87 for the nonstop hits of today and the classics remixed into exclusive Pulse 87 originals. The ratings agree with this switch, and have been increasing steadily with time. This trend can also be noticed in the increased advertising contracts and hits to the company’s website and Myspace page.

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) Makes Significant Changes This Summer

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) has concentrated on creating significant strides in marketing their subsidiary, Pulse 87 FM, this summer. The key driver was to get the word out about the station to the New York area.

The station’s new website, www.pulse87.com, launched in May to be more in tune with a target audience of 18- to 49-year-olds. The site now allows listeners to get the latest entertainment news and updates on events, as well as listen to live broadcasts and send in music requests. As most consumers are on the computer daily, the ability to have access to the station via the web will only increase the station’s listener-base.

Along with the new website, Pulse 87 launched a lineup of weekly shows that highlight some of the most popular DJ’s and producers in the business. The new lineup seems to be bringing in additional listeners. As we all know, marketing dollars are spent in places where advertisers can get ‘the biggest bang for the buck’. Mega Media has recently completed negotiations with several major brands, including Jive Records, Ultra Records, NY Minute Group, Sobe Life Water Brand, Paragon Honda, and Major Auto World, as well as other local advertisers. The increase in advertisers with Mega Media is a great indicator that Pulse 87 is reaching a larger audience.

Alex Shvarts, CEO of Mega Media, stated, “We are very excited that Pulse 87 is starting to see increases in audience listening and recognition in our market. As a result of this growing popularity we are starting to see more recognized brands advertise on the station.”

Mega Media realizes that one of the best methods to reach new listeners is to participate in community events. On June 1st, Pulse 87 was the exclusive radio station for the 5th Avenue Festival held in Brooklyn. The station brought its radio personalities to the stage to meet listeners and to host the event, which included performances by artists and celebrities. It was estimated that over 150,000 people attended this year’s annual event.

Event manager Chip Cafiero said, “We are excited to have Pulse 87 as the Radio Station for this event, Pulse 87 has quickly become a favorite in Brooklyn and their presence at this event should further increase the attendance and the success of the festival this year.”

“Festivals and events such as the 5th Avenue Festival increase listener ratings and attract sponsorship dollars from larger brands looking for local exposure, sponsorship revenue is a substantial revenue stream for Radio Stations which our marketing and sales team is tapping into,” stated Shvarts.

Latest estimates show that Pulse 87 has a weekly audience of over 450,000 listeners. The website alone had over 60,000 visits, 19 million hits, and over 125,000 Live Streaming Sessions following the major re-launch of the site in May. This fall, New York will see the launch of the Arbitron personal people meter (PPM) system. This system will track consumers’ exposure to media and entertainment by recording inaudible codes that are embedded into a broadcast signal. Pulse 87 is looking forward to the launch of the PPM system so that it can get a better indicator of the footprint it has in the New York region.

Shvarts concluded, “Pulse 87 is a new multi-cultural voice for the New York tri-state area. After three months we are quite pleased with the reaction our format is generating; we are striving to attain a much larger audience by the September roll out of PPM. Only PPM is able to provide us with this data on this new voice in the market.”

Pulse 87 has made significant strides this summer. Mega Media and its investors should be happy with the progress the station has seen these past couple of months. More listeners equals more advertisers equals more revenue.

Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB)’s Span Does Not Stop at Radio

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Mega Media Group is perhaps best known as the parent company of New York’s Pulse 87 dance radio station. Morning show hosts Star & Buc Wild are known by virtually every radio listener in the tri-state area. However, what many people don’t know is that Mega Media’s range of services only begin with radio. The company is split into several divisions, each offering solutions for different media aspects.

Mega Media Film is the company’s full-service film studio, where Mega Media’s knowledgeable staff of visual effects animators and editors help to produce everything from music videos and commercials to independent films. The studio provides added incentive for aspiring artists to do business with the company, while cutting advertising costs in the process.

Mega Media Studios is another facet of the company’s operations that cannot be overlooked. The 7,000 square foot Brooklyn facility is jam-packed with state-of-the-art recording and mastering equipment to rival virtually any studio in existence. From conception to completion, the staff employed at Mega Media Studios will assist and direct clients through every portion of the music-making process. Aside from traditional studio services such as song recording, mixing, editing and mastering, the studio can also facilitate film scoring, voice-over, archiving and packaging.

These key components in the Mega Media machine make the company look less like a local New York media group and more like a world-class record label. There is virtually no corner in media to which the company’s arms do not reach, and it is this fact that makes Mega Media Group such an exciting and intriguing prospect.

MegaMedia Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) Going Back to the Roots of Radio

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

The entertainment industry may be growing so fast that it can’t even keep up with itself. With the addition of satellite networks invading every area in which people can consume media and entertainment, one media company is going back to the roots of providing pure, quality entertainment.

MegaMedia Group, Inc. is a multimedia entertainment company focused on offering original and newfound multimedia services. The company specializes in multiple areas of the entertainment industry with the help of its subsidiaries, which enable it to specialize in recording, music production and distribution, video production, radio broadcasting, and operating Pulse87 – a rhythmic, top-40 radio station in the New York Tri-State region.

One might wonder how many people actually listen to the radio anymore, since consumers can take their iPods with them anywhere they go or burn their own CD’s at home and play them in the car. According to a recent study by the American Media Services, out of 1,000 adults surveyed, approximately 61 percent stated they listen to the radio, either traditionally or online, at least once per week.

MegaMedia’s management team isn’t ignoring the advances in technology either. Recently, they announced the execution of an affiliate agreement with Applei Tunes, which allows www.pulse87.com visitors to purchase music playing on the radio station through the most widely used online music store. The agreement is of utmost importance, since iTunes is now the #2 music distributor, trailing only behind Wal-Mart.

Also, Pulse 87 FM, WNYZ-LP, announced the signing of advertising agreements with Sobe Life Water Brand, a division of Pepsico, and Paragon Honda. These two signings demonstrates that companies are still looking for the newest and hippest radio stations to advertise their products and services on. Prior to these signings came the announcement that Pulse 87 reached an advertising agreement with Major World Automotive valued in the range of $192,000 – $420,000.

Prior to the launch, the company announced that the station would be the new home of the popular “Star & Buc Wild Morning Show”, which at one time, was one of the highest-rated morning shows in New York City radio history. Prior to the show’s relocation to Pulse 87.7FM, it was so popular it even beat the Howard Stern Show for the top ranking in New York. At the height of its fame, the show generated over $12,000,000 in annual advertising revenue. The company will leverage this popularity to enter additional markets outside of New York City. Star & Buc Wild are nationally known, successful radio personalities, and they will give Mega Media Group a boost as it tries to launch and ramp a large audience quickly.

The format of Pulse 87.7FM is divided into three categories – talk radio, music programming and news. News programming includes headlines, lifestyle and entertainment. Another pillar of the station format is live broadcasting in the New York City area. The talk show guests range from celebrities to politicians. Mega Media Group’s portable studio and road crew is on the streets of New York City each day, interacting with the audience and producing entertaining live segments from the city’s hotspots.

Although Americans today have more entertainment options than ever, over 90% of all consumers 12 and older still listen to the radio. No other medium has this much customer exposure. Radio has strong penetration in the home, at work and in the car, and based on consumer studies, it appears that it will continue to be very influential among Americans with buying power. Mega Media Group decided to enter the mainstream radio market (represented by the listeners of Pulse 87.7FM) to appeal to these strong consumers. Because of this, Pulse 87.7FM plans to generate abundant advertising revenue, adding to the value of Mega Media Group.

New to the Tri-State area’s Rhythmic Top 40 scene, Pulse 87 has strategically employed several of the region’s top DJs in order to make its presence felt in the air waves of New York radio.

With number one ratings on two of New York’s most popular radio stations to their credit, Star & Buc Wild are now calling Pulse 87 home. This serves to add significantly to the growing credibility of the station. Gina Golden V.P. of sales stated, “Major brands are starting to see the exposure and value of advertising on Pulse 87. Mega Media Group, Inc. (MMDA.OB) Caters to the Nations Bank of Entertainment with 3D Studios and More

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

American Idol and other talent-based reality shows leave no doubt that there is massive wealth of undiscovered talent in America. Unless entertainers, musicians and artists get the chance to hit the stage in front of a panel of celebrity judges, it can be hard to get their foot in the door and even harder to promote themselves as standing out from the competition.

Several divisions comprise Skeleton Key Entertainment, a subsidiary of Mega Media Group (OTCTT: MMDA), which assists musicians in all aspects of music recording, promotion, accounting, and everything in between. Skeleton Key Recordings provides all the services of a major record label, including funding, artist development, recording services, access to Mega Media’s recording studio, promotions, marketing, artwork creation and retail distribution, and DVD projects created in-house.

The publishing division focuses on the acquisition of various music properties. Skeleton Key Publishing offers worldwide music administration services such as royalty collections, accounting services, copyright registrations, song-plugging services, songwriter workshops and talent development. The company recently also ventured into the funding, development and distribution of literary works and audio book projects.

Skeleton Key Urban Management and Skeleton Key Pop/Rock Management are two divisions that provide management and career development services for artists, producers, music executives, songwriters and entertainment companies. The Key Branding and Special Projects division offers consulting services and funding to its corporate clients and entertainers. The division provides custom albums compilation, DVDs and media cards to clients from the fashion, nightlife and entertainment areas.

Parent company Mega Media Film is a full-service film studio, equipped with a 3D chromatic room and 4A virtual studios where artists can record and complete multimedia projects. The company also produces commercials, infomercials and video-related products. Its virtual 3D studio allows for the production of video projects at a lower price than traditional films, eliminating the need for large sets, physical labor, permits and space.
