Minco Silver Corporation is a mining company focused on acquiring and developing high-grade, advanced-stage silver properties. The company is based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada, but has current projects in North America and China.
In an open market stock transaction, Minco Silver acquired a smaller mining company, Sterling Mining, in 2008, resulting in Minco Silver controlling two world-class silver deposits including the Fuwan Silver property in China and the Sunshine Mine in Idaho, USA.
In addition to the Fuwan Silver project, Minco Silver has been granted three exploration licenses by the Ministry of Land and Resources of China. These three exploration licenses, which are very hard to come by, are located in the Sanzhou Basin, Guangdong Province, China. The Luoke-Jilingang exploration project and the Sanyatang exploration project account for a total area of 167.46 square kilometres, cover the major part of the northeast-trending Fuwan Silver Belt.
Minco Silver’s vision is to become a leading operating and silver producing mining company in China. They plan to fulfill this vision through targeted acquisitions of large silver-dominant properties in China and by bringing advanced-stage projects to feasibility. With a strong team of experienced senior management and strong bonds with some of the premier Chinese mining organizations and the Chinese government, Minco Silver is well positioned to turn their visions into a reality.
The company was founded in 1986 and is based in Waltham, Massachusetts.
