TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Announces International Expansion to the Caribbean

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Today before the opening bell, TiVUS announced expansion of its operations into the Caribbean Islands, a rich source of hotels and resorts. According to the press release, the company has already completed a site survey of its first property in Puerto Rico.

“After completing a year-long market feasibility study, I am proud to announce we have begun operations in the Caribbean Islands,” stated Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ chief executive officer. “Our research indicated several areas with high concentrations of suitable hotels that exist in a relatively small geographical area, making this area of North America a practical locale in which to expand.

“Because of the feasibility study and yesterday’s site survey in the Puerto Rico property, I am confident TiVUS’ growth into the Greater Antilles holds a very high growth potential. Indeed, our system with its multi-language content and menus is ideally suited for hotels and resorts that attract worldwide travelers who speak the languages of the world.

TiVUS base of operations in the Caribbean will be in San Juan, PR. With yesterday’s recent site survey completed, we expect to announce new contracts from this area soon.

“In other updates, our 2011 financial statement is currently in preparation, and I also expect to soon announce our annual shareholder meeting date to discuss our details for up listing, along with other items of interest to the Company’s shareholders,” Prakash concluded.

Today before the opening bell, TiVUS, Inc. announced it has been engaged by a wide-range of advertisers for utilization of the company’s proprietary high-definition (HD) internet-protocol television (IPTV) with ad-insertion, including restaurants, beauty & spa services, local attractions, shopping, and more.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Announces Local Merchants’ Embrace of Hotel TV Advertising

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

TiVUS, Inc. just announced that advertising on its proprietary, satellite based, high-definition (HD) internet-protocol television (IPTV) with ad-insertion is now generating revenues. Initial success is lending strong validation to the company’s novel hotel HD IPTV ad-insertion business model.

“Significantly, we believe current ad-revenue projections reveal TiVUS’ first-of-its-kind HD IPTV with ad-insertion effectively renders video-on-demand income, already in decline for over a decade, immaterial,” stated Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ chief executive officer.

“Today it is satisfying to report, however meager initially, our ad-revenues have begun at our inaugural Philadelphia installation. Moreover, at the current pace of ad-sales, I expect this installation to be fully-booked with advertisers and generating expected revenue, which we have always believed was attainable, by early in the second fiscal quarter.

“We believe strong advertiser demand is the ultimate third-party validation providing proof-positive TiVUS ad-insertion based business model is leading the way forward for the hospitality entertainment industry. As TiVUS IPTV with ad-insertion allows hotels to now migrate away from legacy video-on-demand systems, we believe migration of high-end properties to our system will begin gaining significant momentum.

“Our ad sales team has been working with eager local businesses for the past 6-weeks. During that time, advertisers have been filming commercials, placing ads, and taking advantage of unprecedented e-commerce opportunities. As a result, billing cycles for local advertisers has begun and invoicing has already been underway. Based on our success here in Philadelphia, we believe TiVUS has forever changed the way hotels fund, implement, and leverage in-room entertainment.

“I now expect to announce some well-known advertisers in the coming days and weeks, as I was just informed last night of new successes by our advertising sales team,” Prakash concluded.

Shortly after the opening bell, TiVUS announced that for the first time in the industry it has begun the insertion of its own TV commercials on top cable TV channels of the company’s satellite based proprietary high-definition (HD) internet-protocol television (IPTV) with ad-insertion platform.

“TiVUS’ pioneering first ads began running this month,” stated Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ chief executive officer. “Based on this success, we believe TiVUS has forever changed the way hotels fund, implement, and leverage in-room TV entertainment technology.

“By fully exploiting TiVUS’ innovative revenue model, we believe we have successfully demonstrated TiVUS’ unique-to-the-industry in-room TV, which places local and national advertisers in-front of millions of ready-to-spend consumers annually. I anticipate future deployments of our HD IPTV with ad-insertion as the platform begins generating its first monthly revenue shared with the hotel.

“On the system sales front, Phil Marriott , our executive vice-president of sales, reported to me he is aware of several hotel properties that are month-to-month with legacy providers awaiting TiVUS successful proof-of-concept.

“Significantly, we also expect to see the beginnings of advertising revenues this month as TiVUS, Inc. now begins its transition from a development stage to a revenue-growth stage company,” Prakash concluded.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Meets Demand for Hotel TV Advertising; Commences Sales Initiative

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

TiVUS, Inc. just announced that its advertising team has begun marketing more than 5,500, 15-second commercial slots to local advertisers. These slots are available on all the top-rated, most popular cable TV channels through the utilization of the company’s high-definition (HD) internet-protocol television (IPTV) with ad-insertion platform.

“Although traditional television advertising aggregators do need a rough minimum of about 5000 rooms to make impression-based advertising viable, that does not preclude us from acquiring local advertisers directly,” stated Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ chief executive officer. “Our ad sales team currently operating in the Northeast is being ‘courted’ by several large advertising/media groups as well as directly marketing to local, ready-to-place advertisers.”

“In other business, our audit is complete and we are currently in the process of preparing all of the necessary documents and filings to both qualify for a higher OTC Markets listing and register our securities with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. I expect all of the appropriate filings to be forthcoming in the very near future,” Prakash concluded.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Differentiates Itself through Blend of Technologies

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

TiVUS, an entertainment technology systems provider for the hospitality industry, believes that it stands out in a rapidly growing industry through a number of unique features that maximize the potential of IPTV.

For TiVUS, the principal differentiator is the rich availability of choice: choice of programming, on-screen promotions, style, messaging, and the number of ways hotels can use the new technology to generate revenue. Hotels are given a customizable selection of programming to pass on to guests, with a range of the most popular entertainment content. In addition, the TiVUS HD IPTV service does not levy additional fees to opt-out of adult content or other programming. The TiVUS e-SmarTV uses an integrated set-top box and wireless Internet router in the on-board circuitry to provide all services, and TiVUS Connect gives guests the ability to connect laptops, video game consoles, and even mobile devices through the e-SmarTV.

But perhaps the most important feature for the hotel is that TiVUS allows for the generation of revenue through ad-insertion. TiVUS provides an HD IPTV solution with patented ad-insertion technology that creates new revenue opportunities for hospitality operators. TiVUS’ Solution increases movie revenue and HSIA revenue, along with guest satisfaction. Revenue can be generated through licensing agreements with content providers, and actively through targeted advertising to specific demographics, with special algorithms presenting real-time ad targeting based on user programming selections and preferences.

The company’s ad insertion technology and IPTV platform also reduces system costs through the use of integrated set-top boxes and wireless routers, decreasing up-front equipment requirements. In addition, the future-proof scalable architecture of the system eliminates costly upgrades and maintenance.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Becomes Independent Media Content Provider; Launches Ku-band Hotel Satellite Feed

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Today before the opening bell, TiVUS, Inc. told investors it has signed an agreement with a leading digital media services company to secure broadcast rights agreements for all needed cable channels and premium content providers. TiVUS’ HD content is now delivered via its new private Ku-band satellite feed of hotel HD IPTV television content. Due to competitive reasons, the partner’s name was withheld.

“I am pleased to announce this important technology partnership,” stated Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ chief executive officer. “This new partnership replaces our former agreement with EchoStar®, who announced in August it was to electively begin shutting down its satellite-based IPTV delivery service, ViP-TV. By the end of September, the system was completely shut-down.

“This sobering announcement came at the same time we were nearing completion of the installation at the Host Hotel property in Philadelphia. We were incredibly surprised at how our partner was able to provision our entire channel line-up in only a few weeks. By utilizing this prestigious partner, TiVUS gained enhanced technological resources as well; it now controls additional ad spaces adding ‘gutter-ad’ capabilities, as well as more TiVUS controlled queue-tones, which all lead to greater revenue potential,” Prakash emphasized.

“Our technology partner has worked with numerous middleware systems similar to ours, which allowed for the installation time to be significantly reduced,” commented Randall Francis, TiVUS’ chief technology officer. “A typical implementation timeline would be 120 days for such an installation like this. It took us a mere three weeks to complete, demonstrating the powerful nature of this partnership.”

“With this agreement now in place, we are focusing our full efforts on selling advertisements for our system. I look forward to announcing our first advertising contracts as we gain a foothold in the valuable advertising market in Philadelphia,” concluded Mr. Prakash.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Provides Comprehensive Investor Update

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Earlier today, TiVUS, Inc. reported on ongoing sales and installations initiatives, as well as the company’s regulatory compliance activities.

“I would like to update TiVUS friends and shareholders on a number of new and ongoing projects of interest to all,” commented Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ president and chief executive officer.

“Foremost, I would like to relay that we are awaiting the return of an executed five-year, multi-million dollar contract from Host Hotels & Resorts (“Host”) for the fully operational high-definition (“HD”) internet-protocol television (“IPTV”) platform with TiVUS’ proprietary ad-insertion system,” he continued. “The inaugural installation is currently running in Host’s premier 1408-room downtown Philadelphia hotel property adjacent to the convention center.”

As previously announced, TiVUS has developed and completed installation of a first-in-class HD IPTV ad-insertion platform allowing Host to migrate away from its legacy video-on-demand service. The move comes at the same time Marriott Corporation announced it had instituted a “no adult-content” policy phased in over the next few years in all of its properties.

Phil Marriott, TiVUS’ executive vice-president of global sales, commented, “We have had remarkable success courting a customer with a string of properties in the Western U.S., and I expect this to come to fruition in the near future. Although not yet a paper contract, I am very optimistic – this was a lead from our recent meetings in Austin, Texas.

“Although the sales team has been courting scores of other properties, I believe the convergence of Host’s acceptance of our HD IPTV with ad-insertion platform, vis-a-vis room occupancy rates trending nicely upward and hotel chain mandates to upgrade to HDTV, bodes extremely well for our sales strategy going forward,” Marriott concluded.

Prakash added, “Also, I am happy to report installation of our HD IPTV platform at the 435-room downtown Doubletree Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska, has begun; I expect progress updates as we move forward in much the same fashion as we did with the recent Host installation. The Omaha installation will be the most advanced TiVUS HD IPTV system to-date, with many advanced features not seen before in the industry – we expect this installation will be our ‘technological showcase’ for the next 12-18 months.

Steve Haag, investor relations and administration for TiVUS, reported the following: “After numerous audit activities, I am comfortable at present reporting I expect completion of the audit proper in the very near future, possibly around the beginning of November, maybe sooner. We have employed an enormous amount of time, energy, and resources to ensure we maintain a transparent, publicly auditable company. We intend to file a registration statement immediately following to become compliant with the fully reporting standards of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”).”

“Right now, the dearth of news lately belies recent progress. With TiVUS’ industry board chair Doug Marriott’s guidance, all of our efforts over the past two-plus years to build and deploy TiVUS’ ‘game-changing’ hotel HD IPTV entertainment platform are now beginning to make important inroads with the world’s leading hotels, resorts, and casinos,” Prakash concluded.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) HD IPTV Platform Continues to Win Over Hotel/Resort Owners and Patrons Alike

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

TiVUS, developer of a powerful, elegant and highly intuitive HD IPTV (high-definition television via Internet-protocol) platform, continues to break new ground across the media space of resorts and hotels, coupling a delivery system that fully leverages the new IPTV protocol with a way for clients to turn expense into profit via ad-supported revenue sharing.

When we think about what makes a company like Apple Inc. such a dominant force in the tech landscape, the intuitive nature of the overall solution presented to the end user immediately leaps to mind. This same, significant characteristic is present in all successful digital environments and the technology platform that TIVU has created, which pumps HD TV to hotel and resort goers over the same Coax and Cat5/6 cabling already in place, with a user interface that is fun and engaging.

TIVU handles the entire platform, centralizing all the content and advertising off-site, thus ensuring consistency. This solution is ideal for patrons and customers alike as the hotel can offer as much or as little content as they want and users are greeted by a robust television, content-on-demand, and hi-speed internet portal that is easy to use.

With constant tech advancements like the TiVUS e-SmarTV™, which bundles all necessary components into a single large display with no additional hardware in the room, a multidimensional hotel entertainment system is realized. Then again, the standard architecture in its entirety easily fits within 1 server rack, requiring only one small KU satellite dish and an existing distribution network.

President and CEO of TIVU, Shiva Prakash, explained the dynamic expansion of the Company’s service envelope as growing organically from the superior offerings the platform represents. This expansion is typified by recent deals with major resorts and hotels like the installation for Doubletree Hotels®, a 60-month contract.

TIVU understands the target market and that hotel goers want an easy to use entertainment platform, but the overall hospitality entertainment industry penetration this platform is capable of has not escaped notice by the Company’s management. TIVU recently moved to capture more global space in the entire industry via a strategic partnership with 33-year hotel communication technology sales industry veteran, TEL electronics, Inc.

The ad-insertion system is quite ingenious and the concept of ad-supported IPTV is so attractive for hotel and resort owners that TIVU has yet to really fully explore the space within striking distance of their business model. Ideas like the TiVUS e-SmartRoom™ are quickly redefining the hotel experience, allowing people to do everything from ordering room service and shoping for products, to reviewing their room bill and connecting to home computing and gaming platforms.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Goes Remote

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

When TiVUS recently announced that it was beginning to target remote high-end resort properties with the TiVUS HD IPTV entertainment/WiFi platform, the company was acknowledging a long-standing gap that has existed in resort amenities. Even the most deluxe resort accommodations often lack an integrated world-class entertainment and Internet solution simply because of their remote location. As an increasing number of travelers seek more distant and exotic locales, they bring with them a demand for flexible communications and content-rich entertainment. The TiVUS solution does the job in a single package, with the added potential of revenue sharing income from highly-valued focused advertising.

TiVUS President and CEO, Shiva Prakash, explained what the move means to his company: “TiVUS solves the resort industry’s entertainment and connectivity problems simultaneously, anywhere on earth, using a pure IP-based satellite head-in. Feeding rich selections of worldwide programming in guests’ own language, the TiVUS HD IPTV™ solution for resorts also delivers secure, reliable broadband Internet access and interactive on-screen guest services such as ordering room service, scheduling spa appointments, and room folio access.” He added, “Destination resorts’ haphazard access to entertainment programming and Internet connectivity vendors creates a lucrative opportunity for TiVUS and we are currently securing market share in this space as the company continues to lead the way in complete hotel HD IPTV entertainment solutions.”

TiVUS, is a technology entertainment services company for the hospitality industry, providing Internet-based TV and cable programming, interactive game content, and associated products and services to hotels and resorts. For guests, the system represents the best in entertainment options. In addition to all local and cable channels, laptops and even mobile devices can be connected to the TiVUS system, allowing viewing of Netflix, Hulu, and other video streaming sites through the big screen television. For hotels, the TiVUS system offers, for the first time in the industry, the opportunity to tap previously unavailable income through a sophisticated ad-revenue sharing system.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Lets You Take Home Preferences with You

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

When you’re at home, what kind of electronic entertainment and computer setup do you prefer? The capabilities and arrangement of your home systems says a lot about you, the way you work, how you watch television, the way you communicate with the world. But then what’s it like when you’re on the road? Do you find yourself trying to cobble together limited hotel resources in an effort to get your work done or keep the family happy? Do you find yourself thinking how much easier it is at home, where you perhaps like to work on the Internet through your television, or watch Netflix and other video streaming sites on a big screen?

If so, you’re not alone. As home communication and electronic functionalities become more flexible and powerful, more people find themselves disappointed by the limitations of traditional hotel services. The idea of a pricey hotel, or even a resort, having antiquated electronic resources is becoming a major factor in travel decisions, and a threat to hotel revenues. Comprehensive access to the Internet, for example, is now considered a necessity, not a luxury.

TiVUS, a hospitality industry entertainment services and technology company, has created the first-of-its-kind Internet protocol HDTV system for hotels and resorts. For guests, it represents all of the flexibility and capability of home, together with added features for hotel communication.

• Entertainment centers can be tailored to each guest, regardless of where they travel, thanks to a TiVUS patented customer identification system.
• Guests have full access to all local and cable channels, plus all of the latest movies.
• Laptops and even mobile devices can be connected to the TiVUS system, allowing viewing of Netflix, Hulu, and other video streaming sites through the big screen television.

For the hotel, the TiVUS ad revenue business model allows revenue to be generated in ways never before possible. Special licensing agreements with content providers allow the delivery of normal advertising on a shared-income basis. In addition, IPTV and integrated software technology and algorithms allows the targeting of specific demographic viewers, serving ads based upon viewer preferences, resulting in a highly focused and valuable way for advertisers to reach the market. The system is already being installed in major hotels, with plans for worldwide expansion.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Turns Cash Drain into Cash Cow

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

It’s still relatively new today, but it represents the beginning of a marketing revolution. It’s IPTV, Internet Protocol television, integrating television’s huge audience with the control and interactive functionalities of the Internet. IPTV is seen by many as the next major step in home entertainment, offering end users a rich, customized, and flexible viewing experience, with a wide range of content, while offering providers and advertisers a world of opportunity to reach and interact with customers. The chance to target the viewing public in ways never before possible has already led to important shifts in the way some industries do business.

A case in point is TiVUS, Inc., a technology entertainment services company for the hotel and resort industry. Previously, hotels depended upon traditional in-room television technologies, offering standard cable channels and little else. It represented a necessary but expensive investment to keep the rooms filled, with VOD (Video On Demand) as the only realistic revenue option.

Today, TiVUS is in the process of transforming the entire hotel entertainment concept, by delivering a first-of-its-kind IPTV entertainment system. Over and above the dramatic changes this represents to the experience of hotel guests, it will be the first time in the industry that a continuous financial drain for hotels will now become a revenue generating resource. It has made TiVUS, in effect, an advertising company for the industry, giving hotels and resorts a multi-faceted platform for making money by providing marketers with highly targeted audience options not previously available.

The company’s unique ad revenue business model creates revenue both passively and actively:

• Passive – Through licensing agreements with content providers, TiVUS can control and deliver normal television advertising, sharing income so that hotels no longer depend upon VOD as the sole revenue source.
• Active – Using IPTV technology and associated software to identify and target specific demographic viewers, with behavioral and contextual algorithms serving spontaneous ads based upon user preferences, TiVUS provides marketers with a highly focused, and valuable, advertising option.

The company’s patent pending ad insertion technology and IPTV platform also decreases setup and operational costs. TiVUS branded HD flat screen televisions have integrated set-top boxes and wireless Internet routers, to reduce up-front equipment. In addition, the system is designed for virtually limitless scaling, essentially making it future-proof, to reduce maintenance and upgrade concerns.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) Announces Expansion of Proprietary HD IPTV Solution to Resort Industry

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Shortly after the opening bell, TiVUS, Inc. announced it has begun teaming with high-end coastal resort properties to directly provide complete high-definition Internet protocol television (HD IPTV) entertainment and in-room WiFi solutions. Through the Company’s cutting-edge entertainment solutions, these remote and virtually unserved hotel resort properties can now offer guests the same technological amenities that one expects from any major property.

“From Cancun to Waikiki, remote coastal resorts attract millions of travelers to scenic vistas and exotic cultures; yet, the resort segment of the hospitality industry has long been without a complete, world-class, single-source entertainment and Internet solution for its guests,” stated Shiva Prakash, TiVUS’ president and chief executive officer. “Furthermore, television, phone, and Internet communications in these locations are spotty and oft times unreliable, if offered at all.

“With hotel room demand and rates now on the rise, we’ve been participating in advanced meetings all this week with many prominent remote resort properties and I would so far describe these negotiations as promising and productive.

“TiVUS solves the resort industry’s entertainment and connectivity problems simultaneously, anywhere on earth, using a pure IP-based satellite head-in. Feeding rich selections of worldwide programming in guests’ own language, the TiVUS HD IPTV™ solution for resorts also delivers secure, reliable broadband Internet access and interactive on-screen guest services such as ordering room service, scheduling spa appointments, and room folio access.

“Destination resorts’ haphazard access to entertainment programming and Internet connectivity vendors creates a lucrative opportunity for TiVUS and we are currently securing market share in this space as the company continues to lead the way in complete hotel HD IPTV entertainment solutions,” Prakash concluded.

TiVUS, Inc. (TIVU) is First in Line to Benefit from Hotel Industry Recovery

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

What a difference a couple of years can make. Until this year the hotel industry was facing major reductions in traffic, as business travelers and tourists handled sharp budget constraints by staying home. But now, to the surprise of some, the industry finds itself in a new world. Rooms are filling up quickly as businesses compete for opportunities that are just now starting to bubble up, and families schedule long postponed trips. In August, over 105 million hotel rooms were sold, with July nearly as good. As a result, hotels are starting to cut back on desperation promotions, allowing revenue per available room to rise and net income to increase.

It’s a long needed boost to the bottom line of many hotels, which have been depending largely on the performance of foreign markets. Marriott, for example, posted a 13% increase in Q2 net income, but could use additional support from the domestic side. In addition, as hotels and resorts improve their revenue and income, vendors benefit. U.S. hotels are expected to increase their spending on improvements by 30%, up to $3.5 billion, according to a recent USA Today Travel article, based on an estimate from New York University’s Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management.

TiVUS, Inc. is in a perfect position to benefit from this significant upswing in spending. Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) Offers a Positive Guest Experience

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Without a good idea of what customers want, and what they don’t want, no business is sound. Even with new and untried product concepts, an accurate sense of what people will embrace is the line between success and failure. Surprisingly, a large segment of the hospitality industry continues to frustrate its best customers by largely ignoring their growing technical proficiency and expectations.

For example, people who routinely use their big screen home television units as computer monitors or for games are often out of luck when they travel, since there is frequently no plug panel for connectivity to hotel sets. Their visit, whether for business or pleasure, is recorded as a negative, because their high-priced hotel can’t even match the routine comforts of their own home.

Tivus, an entertainment technology provider for the hospitality industry, considers such functionality as a minimum, and includes a plug panel as a standard element with its TiVUS Solution, allowing guests to easily connect electronic devices to the TiVUS e-SmarTV. The TiVUS Solution is a comprehensive and highly advanced entertainment offering for the hospitality industry, allowing hotels and resorts to make the most of IPTV/HDTV technologies.

The system combines ultra-modern flat screen televisions with sophisticated onsite hardware and software, to give guests a superior and flexible hotel entertainment experience. For instance, TiVUS HD IPTV services do not levy additional fees to opt-out of any programming, including VOD adult content. Guest security is maximized, while hotel liability risks are minimized, through the use of the proprietary TiVUS Network Operations Center, which lets Tivus monitor, protect, and track each customer transaction. In addition, targeted advertising options can become a revenue source, and the TiVUS Advertiser Revenue Sharing Program makes implementing the entire system easily affordable.

Services include, but are not limited to:

• Free-to-guest programming
• Video-On-Demand, with first run movies
• Video games on demand
• News applications
• Social media applications
• Internet browser
• Customizable interface

Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) Success Blends Technology and Hospitality Industry

Monday, August 8th, 2011

The success of Tivus, which has been remarkable since the company’s incorporation in June of 2009, has required an intimate and comprehensive knowledge of the hospitality industry, in combination with a strong sense of applicable technologies. Identifying and bringing together a team that represents such a mix has been the differentiating factor for Tivus, and has been the ultimate responsibility of Shiva Prakash, Tivus founder and CEO.

Prakash’s efforts have resulted in a major shift for the hotel industry, transforming what has been a growing money drain, customer entertainment systems, into a sophisticated customer-targeted potential revenue source. Through the application of advanced IPTV and wireless Internet technologies, Tivus offers a dramatically improved viewer experience, together with the opportunity for revenue-generating targeted advertising.

Driving this fast-developing hospitality revolution is a management and advisory team that reflects this rare fusion of industrial and technological awareness.

• Shiva Prakash (President & CEO) is a programming industry veteran, with an extensive understanding of content distribution and ecommerce platforms, gained at IBM and elsewhere. His research led to the recognition of a vast unmet opportunity for the application of the latest communication technologies in the hospitality industry.

• Randall Francis (Chief Technology Officer) has been an innovator in entertainment electronics since 1983, and was an early pioneer in Internet based technologies. He designed the first completely integrated soft-touch controlled guest rooms in the world.

• Phil Marriott (Executive VP of Domestic and International Sales) has founded a number of successful companies and has provided financial advice for both corporations and high net worth individuals, including Coldwell Banker and ADP.

• Doug Marriott (Advisory Board) has been involved in real estate for most of his life, and founded Marriott Development, a company that forms strategic partnerships with organizations to take advantage of innovative technology having a great upside potential.

Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) Wraps Up Major Installation in Philadelphia, Plans Next Installation in Omaha

Monday, August 1st, 2011

Tivus, the revolutionary technology provider of a complete hotel entertainment platform utilizing high-definition (HD) Internet-protocol (IP) TV and cable programming, as well as hot new interactive content like gaming and other goods/services, recently announced going live in 1,200 of the 1408-room downtown Philadelphia hotel property operated by Host Hotels and Resorts. This announcement also marks the final phase of the Company’s inaugural installation of the TiVUS HD IPTV™ system, which is expected to wrap up sometime this month.

President and CEO of TIVU, Shiva Prakash, noted that the Company was on time and on schedule to finish the installation, reflecting warmly on the rave reviews already coming in from both hotel staff and customers alike. Prakash pointed to the hundreds of rooms already in operation since earlier this year, citing hard empirical customer satisfaction data that shows significantly above-average satisfaction compared to the same interval last year, before the systems.

Not only has the TIVU system been embraced by customers and staff, overall technical issues are also down, well below average, with an impressive 86% resolution rate showing mere user error. This is an extremely attractive feature for hotel goers and for the hotel operator alike, the patrons love the features, ease of use and rich content, while the operators are able to reduce costs and complications.

This deal follows fast on the heels of the announcement earlier this year in March between TIVU and Host Hotels for the roll out of HD IPTV systems across Host properties, an incredibly sweet deal for TIVU, as Host is a firmly established Fortune 500 company with bedrock infrastructure in the hotel sector. In fact, Host is the largest lodging REIT (real estate investment trust) and one of the largest luxury/upper-scale hotel owners around.

Prakash pointed towards the upcoming announcements of the completion of the installation in Philadelphia and the commencement of the next planned installation in Omaha, delighted that TIVU is continuing to show aggressive growth vectors in the Company’s targeted market.

Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) Continues to Grow through Partnerships

Thursday, July 14th, 2011

More than many developing companies, the growth of Tivus has been based upon agreements and partnerships with recognized industry leaders, and the past year has been one of the most active in the company’s history.

In November of last year, Tivus announced a major supply agreement with European electronics producer Vestel Group, through Vestel’s Master North America Distributor, CVS International Ltd. Vestel Group, through the many companies that comprise the group, is a huge producer and distributor of consumer electronics in Europe. Vestel’s European market share accounts for 25% of the total digital set-top box market, 21% of the total TV market, 10% of the total LCD TV market, and 10% of the total household appliance market. The agreement with Tivus calls for Vestel to produce HDTVs for the Tivus IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) systems.

In March of this year, Tivus announced an agreement with hospitality giant Host Hotels & Resorts to deploy the Tivus HD IPTV COD (Content On Demand) system in Host properties, a deal that will lead to installations in thousands of rooms. Host national and international properties involve some of the best names in the business, including Marriott, Sheraton, Hyatt, Hilton, Westin, Ritz-Carlton, and Four Seasons. Tivus soon announced that it had already implemented its systems in more than 900 Host rooms and that it was beginning Phase II in its deployment. It’s important to know that Doug Marriott serves on the Tivus Industry Advisory Board. Doug Marriott is the cousin of Marriott Chairman and CEO Bill Marriott and Host Hotels Chairman Richard Marriott. In addition, Phil Marriott was recently appointed as executive VP of International and Domestic Sales for Tivus.

In June, Tivus announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with InfoValue Computing, Inc., a supplier of advanced IPTV middleware application systems. The agreement calls for InfoValue technology to be integrated into the Tivus HD IPTV entertainment systems. It provides Tivus a greater level of real time control in the management of guest menu customization and communication with the hotel’s system.

Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) Brings More than Entertainment to Hotels

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

When Doug Marriott, of the Marriott Hotel family, recently chose to join the Tivus advisory board, he made his enthusiasm for Tivus clear, indicating how proud he was to be a part of bringing what he called a game-changing business model to the hotel industry. Doug Marriott is the cousin of Marriott Chairman and CEO Bill Marriott and Host Hotels Chairman Richard Marriott.

Marriott International has been in the forefront of revolutionizing the hotel electronic environment, including their decision to eliminate adult movies from its pay-per-view systems provided by LodgeNet in new hotels. The company plans to transition its in-room programming to an Internet-based video-on-demand model to provide guests more choices and personal viewing control. Hotel and resort guests today are used to having a lot of control and options as part of their home entertainment systems, and they don’t pay good money to go to a hotel or resort in order to get less.

The Tivus system will provide high-functionality Internet-based television and cable programming, in addition to offering a number of advanced hotel communication features. The system will let guests access Facebook and streaming Netflix films, as well as provide access to information regarding hotel products and services. Tivus combines onsite hardware and software with sophisticated flat-screen displays, resulting in an unmatched integrated television/Internet experience.

The link between the hotel guest and the hotel is greatly strengthened, even allowing the system to become a significant revenue generator through targeted advertising of tourist services and various products. Tivus also has a revenue sharing program that makes it financially viable for hotels to ramp up to this new world of guest communication and entertainment. The company is already working with Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc., the giant hospitality organization, in the development of its new HD IPTV system.

Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) Moving from the Lab to the Market

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Tivus is a unique and expanding hotel/hospitality industry technology company, providing feature-rich Internet-based television and cable programming, along with advanced hotel goods and services communication, even interactive games. The Tivus offering represents a completely integrated IPTV solution, combining television and the Web through unmatched IPTV/HDTV service, including Video-On-Demand.

The system uses onsite hardware and software, together with ultra-modern flat screen televisions, to give guests a hotel entertainment experience like no other. Broadband connectivity to the Internet is through a proprietary Tivus Network Operations Center, which allows Tivus to monitor, protect, and track each customer transaction, maximizing user security while minimizing hotel liability risks.

Most importantly, for the first time the hotel’s entertainment system becomes a multi-faceted platform for generating revenue through targeted commercial advertising of things like local tourist services, hotel promotions, or virtually any product that can benefit from exposure to a focused upscale market. What has traditionally been considered a necessary financial burden can now be a growing income source. The opportunities are endless because the system is designed to be scalable. In addition, the Tivus Advertiser Revenue Sharing Program makes moving up to this profitable and highly differentiating system eminently affordable.

Recently, Tivus began Phase II development of its new high-definition (HD) Internet-protocol television (IPTV) in-room entertainment system with Host Hotels & Resorts, subsequent to successfully testing its core ad-insertion technology. Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. is an S&P 500 and Fortune 500 company with properties throughout the U.S. and the world. It is recognized as one of the largest owners of luxury and upscale hotels, including Four Seasons, Hilton, Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Westin, and many others.

Tivus, Inc. (TIVU) to Take Spotlight at 2011 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®)

Monday, June 20th, 2011

Today, Tivus, Inc. announced that it will be attending the 2011 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), sponsored by the Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals, in Austin, Texas, June 20-23, 2011.

“This week, key Tivus executives will be attending the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference,” stated Shiva Prakash, Tivus’ president and CEO. “With the arrival of the HD IPTV satellite ‘head-in’ to North America in late 2009, the potential for new, never-before-possible revenue has ‘ignited’ massive attention from an industry eager to leverage this new entertainment technology.”

Attendee demographics include job functions in Corporate (24%), General Management, Sales & Marketing (13%), IT/IS (32%), Finance (10%), and Owners & Operators, from worldwide Casinos, Clubs, Consulting Firms, Cruise Lines, Educational Institutions, Hotel/Hotel Management Companies, and Resorts. According to the press release, fifty-two percent of attendees have purchasing power over $250K, and 69% possess 10+ years of experience in the industry.

Phil Marriott, Tivus’ executive vice-president of domestic and international sales, commented, “The hospitality industry has long needed a new, reliable platform to generate significant in-room revenue. For the first time in the industry, Tivus has taken what once was a major capital expenditure that generated little, if any revenue, and leveraged its interactive nature to generate significant ad-based revenue in addition to any premium content-on-demand profits.

“The attendee base at this show provides one of highest concentrations of potential Tivus customers of any trade show, and we look forward to discussing our HD IPTV system with hotel as well as cruise and gaming industry clients,” Marriott concluded.
