CDC Corp. (CHINA) – This is Not a Slow Boat to China

CDC Corporation is a company whose focus is on enterprise software applications and services, online games and Internet media. Their family of companies includes CDC Software, CDC Games, and China.com, which focuses on websites for the greater China markets. Trading on NASDAQ as part of the Internet Software and Services industry, CDC Corporation has its headquarters in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

The company’s CDC Software division focuses on being a global provider of software solutions and services to medium and large enterprises. Their solutions include ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), SCM (Supply Chain Management), MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), HRM (Human Resources Management) and BPM (Business Performance Management).

CDC’s Business Services arm has information technology, web development, and business services companies. These companies are in Hong Kong, Australia, Korea, and the U.S., and offer program management, outsourcing services, application development, and continuing support services using a slew of different technologies.

CDC Games is a premier provider of online and mobile games in China. The company pioneered their “free-to-play, pay-for-merchandise” online games model in China with Yulgang. They also launched the first “free-to-play, pay for merchandise FPS (first person shooter)” game in China with Special Force. The company offers their online games throughout China, Asia and Pacific, and North America.

The company’s Internet Media division focuses on online entertainment and Internet services that target the China market. They provide online games and a broad spectrum of online products and services through its www.china.com website. The company’s Internet Media Products and Services focuses efforts on channels that cover news, military, automobile, sports, games, and wireless services. They offer premium email services with unique domain names such as china.com and hongkong.com. The company has also made an investment in the online gaming company, 17Game, which has three games launched in the China market.

This month, CDC Corporation announced that CDC Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation, has signed an agreement with Rifle-Shot Performance Holdings in which Rifle-Shot will act as the exclusive value-added reseller of CDC Software’s process manufacturing industry solutions throughout Africa. CDC Corporation, it seems, is not taking a slow boat to China, nor anywhere else with its innovative products and services that fulfill various customer needs. They are moving full speed ahead to give their customers and their shareholders the value they want.
