EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB) Rides Wave of Publicity

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

EV Innovations, Inc., the much talked about electric car maker, continues to enjoy the benefits of all the publicity received at the New York International Auto Show this spring, where the company showcased its latest 100% electric vehicles, including the new competitively priced WAVE. And if you don’t think that the show carries much weight, here’s a list of just some of the places in which the company has since been featured:

• The Wall Street Journal
• CNNMoney
• Popular Mechanics
• The New York Times
• Motor Trend
• Car And Driver
• CBS

In fact, The New York Times called EVI’s introduction of its latest two vehicles at the show, the WAVE and INIZIO, as the only real “splash”. And The Wall Street Journal reported that the company appeared to be the most competitive with what is available on the market today. The Journal went on to say that the company’s INIZIO EVS should be a strong contender in the $7.5 million X Prize Competition.

Electric cars have once again captured the public’s imagination as the inherent advantages of the associated technologies become clear. EVI’s lithium-ion storage batteries continue to advance, providing greater range, less weight, and a number of other advantages over older technologies. Even the much hyped hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) approach takes a back seat to EVI, since it consumes nearly 4 times the electricity per mile as EVI’s battery electric vehicles (BEV), with over 12 kg of carbon dioxide produced for every 1 kg of hydrogen, and a driving range far less than BEVs. In addition, BEV fueling is simpler, requiring only a plug-in, and don’t carry the same safety concerns as with hydrogen fuel cells.

When a company produces what is increasingly seen as the most efficient vehicles in the world, the growing publicity is no surprise.

EV Innovations, Inc. is focused on creating 100% lithium-powered vehicles that can be used by everyday people. Since it was founded in 2000, the company has focused its efforts on the development and marketing of its all-electric products. Earlier this year, EV Innovations became the new name of the company previously known as Hybrid Technologies. The new name marked the company’s transition from a development-stage company to a manufacturer of battery-powered vehicles.

“As we go forward under our new identity… we fulfill our commitment to be the leader in American made Plug In Electric Vehicles,” stated Holly Roseberry, President of EV Innovations.

EV Innovations recently unveiled the newly designed Inizio EVS C7 to the public at the 2009 New York International Auto Show. This next-generation electric supercar can reach 170 mph without the help of petro fuels and has a range of 200 miles between charges, creating a new benchmark for the industry. The Inizio is expected to hit production late this year or early 2010.

With fuel costs beginning to inch back up, consumers are continuing to look for alternatives. Now that EV Innovations has taken a major step from a company in development to a full-fledged manufacturing entity, it can fulfill consumer demand. The company’s line of 100% lithium-powered vehicles includes a Mini Cooper, curvacious Wave, PT Cruiser, basic coupes, motorcycles, mopeds, and the Inizio sports car. As the company continues to educate the public and expand its brand presence, the demand for the all-electric vehicles should continue to expand.

EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB): A Leader in Lithium-Powered Vehicles

Monday, June 1st, 2009

EV Innovations, Inc. is an active player in the field of alternative fuel products, focused on marketing all sorts of lithium-powered products for consumers and business. The company has successfully converted numerous products into zero-emissions, lithium-powered vehicles and facilities including: cars, motorcycles, mopeds, work vehicles and homes. Perhaps the company’s most well-known products are their INIZIO-EVS super car and their line of WAVE vehicles. These vehicles have made quite a splash recently in many major media outlets.

EV Innovations WAVE vehicles, as displayed at the New York International Auto Show, have a unique aerodynamic design and high performance expectations. Due to the very positive response to the WAVE vehicles, the company has decided to expand their line and offer an all-electric truck, the WAVE-TRX.

EV Innovations also has a number of LiV (lithium vehicles) cars: LiV Dash, LiV Wise, LiV Surge, and LiV Flash. All of these vehicles, using the company’s lithium battery, can reach speeds in excess of 80 mph and have a range of 120 miles. The cycle life of the batteries is over 2,500 charges. The batteries can be re-charged usually in 6 hours from various power sources.

EV Innovations also offers other innovative products. The company has the LiV Ryder and E-Cobra motorcycles, the LiV Cruz moped, and the LiV Bulldog, which is a work or recreational vehicle for farm, ranch or country roads. The 4-weel drive Bulldog has room for two, plus cargo.

The company has also come up with the Hybrid Living Home which combines all of the latest alternative and renewable energy features with recent advances in Smart Home technologies. EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB) Points To Critical Importance of Electric Vehicles

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

EV Innovations, Inc. gives drivers all over America the opportunity to enjoy driving electric vehicles of every shape and size. But it also offers the country something far more important: a realistic answer to our energy and pollution problems, with multiple benefits over other proposed solutions.

It does this through the application of advanced lithium ion battery technology to the electric car, making plug-in all-electric vehicles more advantageous than ever before. With one look at the facts behind the technology, it becomes clear that the future transportation needs of the world will be met in part with electricity.

• Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are by far the most efficient vehicles in the world, including the heavily promoted hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles.
• Even after counting emissions from electric generating plants, all electric plug-in vehicles produce 98% fewer pollutants than gas cars, largely because only about 4 percent of electricity generation is produced from oil.
• According to the U.S. Department Of Energy, enough excess generating capacity exists at night to charge 180 million such vehicles, without adding any new capacity. (In fact, it is estimated that people waste more electricity in their homes than would be needed to power their electric cars.)
• Almost all generated electricity is domestic, with a small percentage produced in Canada. There is no need for a war to be fought over electricity.
• Plug-in cars capable of only 50 miles per day, already surpassed by EVI, would meet the needs of 80% of the American driving public, and the company is looking at battery technology that could provide up to several times that without having to add a lot of weight in additional batteries.

It’s hard to imagine a more compelling argument for EV Innovation’s products: Removing the majority of pollution from the air, including greenhouse gases, while eliminating our dependence on foreign oil, and all without having to build any new production or distribution facilities.

EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB) Offers Electric Pickup

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

EV Innovations, Inc., the electric car maker that received so much attention at the recent New York International Auto Show, is already expanding their WAVE family of vehicles to include a sleek new pickup truck version. It’s called the WAVE-TRX and is expected to follow the same footprint as EV’s popular WAVE car that caused such a stir in New York. The truck version adds a cargo carrying back end, but retains the aerodynamic styling, eco-friendly qualities, and low price that made the car version such a hit.

Some electric car makers have offered high end vehicles, but with price tags catering primarily to wealthy car hobbyists wanting to make an environmental statement. Others have done little more than add a shell to a golf cart in an attempt to keep the price down. But in New York, EVI surprised everyone with its WAVE line of all-electric cars, having the great features people want in a full size electric car, including a 170 mile range and speeds up to 80 mph, but at a price starting at a very affordable $34,900. For the first time, the public was seeing an all-electric vehicle they could live with and afford.

The WAVE, like all of EVI’s vehicles, is based upon the innovative use of lithium-ion battery technology, the most effective way to store electricity at a reasonable price. The batteries are charged simply by plugging the car in for a few hours or overnight for a full charge. The 170 mile range WAVE meets the daily driving needs of nearly everyone on the road today, and, unlike hybrids and gasoline cars, the WAVE is virtually maintenance free.

Electric cars are rapidly becoming the focal point of the environmental movement and governments around the world. After all, even considering power plant emissions, electric cars result in 98% less pollution than gas powered cars. And since most electric cars will be recharged at night, trading in gas for electric will not require the building of more power plants.

As the all-electric movement continues to gain momentum, EVI is expected to build on their initial offerings, and the WAVE-TRX clearly shows the creative lengths to which EVI is willing to go to meet public demand.

EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB): Why Electric Transportation and not Gas or Fuel Cell?

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

All-electric vehicles, such as those provided by EV Innovations, are powered by high energy density and lightweight rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. These batteries, easily charged using household electricity outlets, are discharged during use to power electric motors with zero emissions.

Electric vehicles are very reliable and maintenance free. They do not require oil changes, filter changes or tuning and have less than 1/10th the number of parts a gas car has. EV Innovations believes that the best way to reduce carbon emissions is to utilize the cleaner, greener, and increasingly more renewable grid to power transportation.

The electric powered vehicle is also superior to fuel cell powered vehicles for a number of different reasons. First, fuel cells consume 400% more electricity per mile than a similarly sized electric vehicle. They also emit 12.5 kg of Carbon-di-Oxide per kg of Hydrogen produced, deliver half the driving range of electric vehicles, and require a more complicated fueling system than an electric vehicle’s plug-in system.

EV Innovations Inc. (EVII.OB) Takes the Lead in Electric Vehicle R&D

Friday, May 15th, 2009

EV Innovations Inc. (EVII.OB) has taken many steps to introduce its line of electric vehicles (EVs) to consumers. Recent initiatives include targeting drivers at the New York International Auto Show, getting featured on nationally syndicated TV shows, launching an aggressive media marketing campaign and more.

EV Innovations focuses on the development of lithium-powered vehicles and products for a wide range of applications – from scooters and motorcycles, to cars and homes. The company’s line of products centers on its research and production of lithium-powered technology.

While several automakers, including Ford, Mitsubishi, Chrysler and Subaru, plan on pushing their own version of EVs through the assembly lines in the near future, EV Innovations is already ahead of the game. The company opened a wholly owned subsidiary in India last year to take advantage of in-house research, and to utilize India’s network of engineers for development.

Nissan recently announced that by the end of next year it plans on rolling out a five-seat, battery charged electric vehicle in the $20,000-$30,000 price range. The car will be designed to be plugged in during the nighttime, during off-peak energy hours, and will be able to travel for at least 100 miles before needing a recharge. On the other hand, EV Innovations has already manufactured several EVs in the same price range (http://www.hybridtechnologies.com/products).

As EVs plan their comeback, it’s a wonder that so many automakers strayed from green vehicles in the first place, while companies like EV Innovations worked behind the scenes to design and manufacture them day in and day out. Keep your eyes on the road, EV Innovations recently announced it has launched an aggressive media campaign to boost awareness of its innovative and sleek EVs, and may give the bigger automakers a run for their money.

EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB) Ramps Up Distributors

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

EV Innovations, Inc., encouraged by the overwhelming amount of recognition received at the recent New York International Auto Show, is aggressively seeking distributors around the country for its line of electric vehicles. The show prompted EVI to kick off a nationwide television campaign, expected to total over 30,000 television spots. But all the exposure has made it imperative to ramp up the drive for distributors.

EVI is now certainly one of the most visible companies offering electric cars, with a full range of lithium ion powered vehicles and conversions, in addition to electric motorcycles, mopeds, and even a recreational sports vehicle. The company is also completing a prototype alternative energy home near Calgary, showcasing some of the most advanced environmental technologies.

With the government, and just about everyone else, taking the most serious look ever at replacing gas driven cars with zero emission all-electric vehicles, there’s a growing demand that is not yet being addressed. The argument for electric cars grows stronger every day. Even after counting emissions from electric generating plants, electric vehicles still produce 98% fewer pollutants than gas cars. And, because plug-ins are usually recharged at night, virtually all existing gas guzzlers could be replaced with electric cars without building a single new power plant or transmission line.

As the movement grows, EVI intends to be first in line with products that the buying public can truly feel comfortable with. These aren’t just glamorized golf carts. EVI is putting together some of the hottest looking wheels on the road and, with the introduction of their new Wave vehicle, pricing is looking attractive to a wider range of buyers than ever before.

So the need for a national distribution and support network has become increasingly important. EVI is the only company in the world making this technology available to the general public. As a result, their licensees are able to offer the technology with essentially no competition. They have a complete training and support program, including equipment packages, documentation, and marketing.

More importantly, however, is the fact that all of this represents a major technological shift, and therefore a major opportunity. With EVI, it’s not just a new company, it’s a new industry.

EV Innovations (EVII.OB) Leading the Next Wave of Electric Vehicle and Lithium-Battery Technology

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Incorporated in 2006, EV Innovations (EVII.OB) has grown to become a recognizable name in the future of electric vehicles (EVs) and related products. The company’s lithium-powered vehicles and products have the potential to power anything from scooters to cars and homes, eliminating emissions without sacrificing efficiency and quality.

Lately the company’s line of EVs has been featured in various articles and tradeshows, as well as on national television. Last month EVII announced an addition to its WAVE line of EVs: WAVE-TRX, the “first of its kind” emission-free pickup truck.

Since battery-powered vehicles do not require oil or filter changes or tuning services, the vehicles are growing in popularity, not only as an environmentally friendly transportation alternative, but also as a cost-saving measure. With fewer than 1/10th as many parts as a gasoline-powered vehicle, drivers don’t have to worry about the maintenance of engines, transmissions, spark plugs, valves, fuel tanks, tailpipes, distributors, starters, clutches, muffler or catalytic converters – the cars don’t have them!

Not only is the company rolling out impressive sleek EVs, it is also constructing a prototype for its Hybrid Living Home near Calgary, Alberta, set for completion later this year. EVII is working with several established partners to create an energy efficient, modern “smart home” that allows for the monitoring of energy use, reduction of energy waste, solar and wind energy applications, as well as allergen-free air systems.

EV Innovations Inc. (EVII.OB) develops and markets electric powered vehicles and products throughout the United States. The company’s portable battery power pack technology and conversion systems can be used in a variety of vehicles, including ATVs, electric bikes and electric scooters.

EVII’s electric vehicles are not only gaining recognition by environmental enthusiasts and auto lovers, but from journalists as well. At the recent New York International Auto Show, Marketwatch reporter Steve Gelsi interviewed EVII executives and showcased the company’s sleek and futuristic electric vehicles in a short video.

Commenting on the company’s planned vehicle production, Mike Cerven, director of sales for EVII, said the company will ramp up the roll-out as it completes its first round of goals.

“Our first year’s anticipation is around 600. Once we get that full facility set up, then 1800, then going on from there, we have hopes of creating 1,000 jobs,” Cerven stated in the interview with Gelsi.

Getting more zero-emission vehicles on the road and more people into jobs in such a competitive and bleak employment environment is noteworthy goal – and it’s one that may be fairly easily met due to the price tag of EVII’s vehicles. Its Wave three-wheeler seats two passengers and runs for about $35,000, much lower than might be expected for an all electric vehicle.

On the other end of the spectrum, EVII also manufactures the Inizio sports car, which hits 170 miles per hour and is to be priced in six figures.

EV Innovations Inc. develops and markets full-size electric vehicles and portable battery power pack technology applicable to ATVs, electric bikes and scooters. The company recently attended the New York International Auto Show, showcasing its WAVE electric vehicle and INIZIO super car.

The WAVE was met with positive feedback and recognition, which spurred the company to accelerate the development of its WAVE-S4, a four-seat electric vehicle that can cover 180 miles on a single charge, hitting more than 80 miles per hour. What’s not to like about any fully electric car under $40,000?

EV Innovations’ cars are more than meets the eye, which says a lot considering their sleek, futuristic, but sporty look. Of course it’s what’s under the hood that made spectators of the recent auto show contribute such positive feedback.

The cars are powered with advanced drive system technology components, making the system adaptable to a variety of applications. EV Innovations claims its position as a “concept and brand development corporation in the field of alternative fuel automobiles, motorcycles, scooter bicycles and alternative-fuel products.”

As the green wave gains speed, anything that reduces our impact on the planet deserves a deeper look. Electric vehicles produce less than 98 percent emissions than gasoline-powered cars, and as the company explains on its website, the at-home electricity cost to power the vehicles is still less than is traditionally spent on fuel costs.

EV Innovations, Inc. (EVII.OB) Has Key Advantages in Electric Car Development

Monday, April 6th, 2009

EV Innovations, Inc., provider of all-electric vehicles and conversions, is in an enviable position. It sells a product with so many things going for it that it’s hard to know which ones to focus on. And all of these advantages seem to become more and more pertinent with each passing day.

Through its use of high energy density lithium-ion batteries, the company offers a growing number of electric car enthusiasts the opportunity to drive a full range of vehicles, from high-performance sports cars to motor bikes. And no matter what your preferred style, you can still enjoy the unique benefits of all-electric driving.

One of the key factors when considering electric transportation is the particular technology used, and that’s an area where EV stands out. The use of high-tech lithium-ion energy storage has brought the battery back to the forefront in the ongoing race to advance the electric car. In spite of all the talk about the use of hydrogen fuel cells (HFC), the new battery electric vehicles (BEV) are revealing several major advantages:

• HFCs require electricity to compress the hydrogen, consuming 4 times more electricity per mile compared to a similarly sized BEV.
• HFCs emit over 12 Kg of the greenhouse gas CO2 per Kg of hydrogen produced.
• Pound per pound, BEVs have a driving range twice that of HFC powered vehicles.
• HFC vehicles are more complex than BEVs, with greater potential maintenance.
• BEV fueling is simpler, requiring only a plug-in. (And power can also be supplied from solar or other sources.)
• Hydrogen fuel tank safety concerns don’t exist with BEV technology.

In addition, there are a number of other reasons that plug-in BEV technology is advantageous, providing unique security and cost advantages. But we’ll discuss those advantages in a separate article.
